    I found a wagon.
1979 Chevy Impala, the one I was asking questions about the air conditioning and headliner. (I mistakenly put 77 in that thread)
50,700 miles, No rust, 3 owners, runs perfect, rides perfect, only needs air and headliner repaired. I wish it had some more options, but when you live in the rust belt, you can't be too choosy, these do not come around very often

    The owner had put an ad on craigs list and did a poor job of taking pictures, and explaining the car, with no price in the ad. here is the link that was on the board;
    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35666

It just goes to show that you can't trust the ads, you have to check them out in person. The ad was poor because the owner was a retired farmer, the salt of the earth type guy, but he was just not good on the computer. To him the ad was fine.

Sounds like a great deal that you found a nice wagon. Good luck with the repairs.
I think i'd give that headliner a shot or get a friend to help.
    Don't need AC in Wisconsin.

    Congratulations.

Your right, sometimes you just need to check it out yourself.

Glad it worked out for you.

As you have posted in the classifieds, are you now selling the wagon?

    JWDTENN,

Yes, you posted it, and I have to admit I probably would not have noticed it if you had not done so. I have been searching clist for 60-66 C10 parts lately and had sort of put the wagon search on hold until the truck was done.
Thank you taking the time to do what you do.

What is the story on the engine? That color still looks off to me.

Color is way too dark, the owners brother took it home and tuned it up, put new hoses and belts on, and when he did that he sprayed the valve covers and manifold with a color he had sitting there.

They look odd, but it is better than flaking paint and rust, and he actually did a decent job of masking off what did need to be painted.

Rather rare to find one of those now, isn't it? Are there any specific features a first-year Impala has of this design that other, later years don't? I think 1982 saw the 2.5 MPH Bumpers come in, so this one should have a 5 MPH Bumper on it. Kinda nice, really - to have a bumper that doesn't go to scrunched town when hit.

Are those attachment files even working? I clicked on them and neither showed up. I notified the admin.
