Breadbox is the name I use on the Volvo forums, as well as the name of the 740 wagon (a white square box). The picture is what I saw when I walked out my front door one evening. The white V70 in the driveway, the white 740 wagon in front of the house and a white 850 wagon parked across the street.
Normally, my username is Handy_Andy_CV64, which basically denotes I once served aboard USS Constellation CV64, and have had it since I popped on the Internet waaaayyyy back then. Unfortunately, on this version of vBB, it won't allow similar usernames (Handy Andy beat me to it), so I use my secondary username from my Gmail account--Silvertwinkiehobo, which is a clever way of saying someone who travels with an Airstream trailer, and a dream I have yet to realize.
My Avatar and user name I discovered way back in my Citizan Band radio days (CB) that using a car name and several others was not a great CB handle. My first CB handle was MAD MUSTANG. But in a few years I sold the Mustang. Of course later that made me even madder. But by then I was in a position at work where I could visit a lot of factory people from the laborer to upper management. Some talkd sports. I talked old cars. I had a Model T so that became my factory name and new CB handle. I know I've wrtitten this before. Probably a few pages back even. As I got into this internet thing my CB handle seemed right for a number of reasons. Mostly because friends and enemies already knew me by it. But i was a late internet bloomer so Model T seemed to always be taken. I used variations and additions. As many know I finally got it closer to just Model T. Finally got to drop the CAT. Hopefully new members will use a user name and avatar that will stay with them as they trade cars and wagons. You do realize you can change your avatar as often as your underwear!
My nic came about as I had a 1980 Chrysler T&C project car when I first signed on over here, so I took Patrick 80. Have not had the Chrysler since 2009, so I kept 80. My avatar??? I like Chihuahuas, and the El Paso, TX AAA baseball team has a great mascot Chihuahua with a cool logo. Just a cool cartoon Chihuahua!
My username is the same one I've been using on pretty much every website I have to sign up for. When I first started having to come up with usernames in college chat forums, Every name I liked/wanted was already taken. I really didn't want to have to add a whole bunch of random numbers to my first name (David) or any other common word, so I figured I'd make a word up. My first attempt was zzzizzz, but someone else had that, go figure, so I just swapped out one Z for an X. I haven't really thought about how I would say my username, but I guess I would pronounce it something like zizix. As for an avatar, when I was setting up my account, I never saw how to add one, and I haven't bothered looking it up since!
Well now that's interesting. A friend set up my email address and like you he kept adding things I didn't like. It was longer than now but I figured how to change it.Only last summer i was able to beg to get my user name shortened here. As for your avatar check this out.You will find your personal info at USER CP top left line. Your Control Panel Your Profile Edit Your Details Profile Privacy Networking Contacts Settings & Options Edit Avatar ......There's more but to add an avatar here is where you go mr zzzizxz
Your nic reminds me of the exit sign on I-40 (Exit 23) in the desert of southeastern California called Zzyzx Rd
That is awesome! I had no idea that road existed, otherwise, I definitely would have used that as my username. It also makes it waaaaaaaay easier to explain what it means...
I like it and it pertains to wagons/cars...being a road. And we can all pronounce it. Go ahead change your name.
