    That's interesting, never knew that about upstairs washing machines.

    I assumed that there wouldn't be a harness adapter available for a 71 Pontiac, but maybe the harness connector was a standard design that could still be found. I'm still curious about whether trailer brakes would be functional with that kind of harness.

    Usually, a vehicle built with factory trailer towing will have everything EXCEPT the plug harness, and it will be wired for the trailer brakes; you'd have to find out if yours was built that way. Otherwise the wiring for the trailer functions will have to be installed yourself.

    roof rack with a bungee cord would be a fun way to haul it..NOBODY would tailgate you in that situation.

    Most people I've seen hauling furniture in Missouri on a roof rack or open trailer just throw it on and go. They don't use no stinkin bungy cord.
    Some haul their kids up there that way. Most wives fight too much and rarely ride on a roof rack. :rofl2:
