I spotted these in a yard by the side of the road on the highway (US 93) about 20 miles north of Kingman, Arizona. They were in a yard full of old cars that looked worthy of restoration. I don't know that they were for sale, but I would assume so. Most did not have prices on them, although one of the wagons did.

The yard wasn't open when we were passing by on a Sunday morning, so I had to shoot these photos through the fence. The yard itself is apparently for sale as well. The name of the place is A-1 Auto, phone number (928) 767-3360, hours of operation M-F 8 to 5, Sat 8-12.

The first is a '63 or '64 [corrected to '62--see posts that follow] Buick full-size wagon. I love the blue-white two-tone color scheme, and it looked extremely restorable. Clean, solid, straight, beautiful front bumper.

Note the "business for sale" sign above the luggage rack in the lower photo.

The second one is a '60s Mercury wagon. I'm not sure of the year or the model. This one did have a price in the window of $4995, but who knows how long ago that was written on the windshield and what he would take for it today. I couldn't see the interior, and while this area doesn't get a ton of rain, I have to believe some weather has gotten through the hole in the windshield. Still, it looked quite salvageable.

These photos were taken on Sunday, October 19. Somebody needs to go save these cars!

How about the '57 or '58 Dodge wagon to the right in pic #2?

    The Mercury is a '60.

    Yes - is a 1960.
Lotz of potential. Like to fix it up as a transcontinental cruiser.

Some decent vehicles there. Thanks. Fun to just look at what's out there yet.

There are some really decent vehicles in that yard. I'd call it more an old car used car lot than a junk yard.(y)

As for Michigan junk, up at least thru the 80's I remember several regular junk yards with a few decent old cars around the lower west part of the state. I used to collect license plates and saw them then.

Lots of really great looking cars in there...."Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?"

Wow - you have a wagon version of that? Do you have any pictures? :bouncy:

My in-laws had the two-door F-85 when my husband was born...

...and my husband bought this one this past July, not realizing it was nearly identical to the one his parents had when he was a baby. :)

A little better view of it here. You can even see the square tires.

I've sent a link to this thread to my mother in law. She and my father in law will get a kick out of that old Cutlass!
