I know his starting price is only $500 and it's no reserve, but couldn't he have put in a few photos the interior besides the one with the front seat covered in towels? We can't see anything about the options on it other than his telling us it has A/C. We can see that it has a manual tailgate, no power windows, and apparently no power locks. I'm guessing low-optioned overall. With the dash covered up the way it is, I'm afraid to see what's underneath. He mentions that the headliner has been removed. Based on all of this and the photo below, I'm guessing the interior is a mess. That carpet alone looks like hell.



And we really don't need a photo of the emissions sticker or the antique vehicle license plate. Those don't tell us anything about the car.

Bull-hockey. First of all, how many have you owned? Second, this is what you say when yours has rust and you're trying to explain it away to minimize the harm this does to your potential sale.

But as noted, with a starting price of only $500 and no reserve, you can't ask for too much.

 

I can't see this selling for much more than $2000.

 

There are a few people that have traded, bought, sold, parted, smashed (eek) 100's, maybe over a 1000 clam wagons. I know many of them. You can see a stripped white clam in the background. I'd bet this guy probably has had a couple of these wagons to claim the rust issue. It's interesting to hear what people call rust in CA vs those North of the Ohio valley. I do agree, let's see a picture of the spare area.

I can assure you NONE of the last 3 I have owned had rotted out spare tire areas! And the one I am driving now came from KENT OHIO!

 

I would have at least wiped the dust off of the dash and instrument cluster. lol. I see at least two dash cracks. Dash cracks are common on these. Mine was crack free until the bitter cold weather last winter... then one bitter cold night, it popped. Now I have one crack on the dash.

True, looks low optioned, does not have tilt wheel either.

One thing that is odd is that it has Caprice wagon door panels (note Caprice emblem on door panel).

Well I must admit that I have a big rust hole in my spare tire well and my car is a Tennessee car. Mine was due to leaky cargo area windows however. I need to get it repaired asap.

 

The windows DO leak BUT there are drains under the mouldings to address just that. MAIN thing I have seen is there is a hole under the spare tire. These get clogged and people don't remove the tire and clean it out for proper drainage. So moisture stays in there 24/7 forever.

 

Yeah until a big hole rusts in it. lol.
