http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/4647350389.html Am I missing something? This seems like a bargain.
I'd like to see a pic of the rearend, as I see no IMPALA emblems on the front fenders, and I'm pretty sure that there were no Impala 2dr post cars in 68....looks to be a Bel Air or Biscayne.
Even if it was a cloned car it would sell for more, if what we see in just these 2 pics from the ad this car would have sold by now. This does smell a bit to good to be true..........
Right, no Sedan cars (with Posts) were available in the Impala in '68. If the body is all original, the car should be a Biscayne. Strange to have 2 "mistakes" in the same ad. Maybe someone ended up with the car and they don't really know what they have ?? Maybe an ex-wife now owns it and she wants to get rid of it in a hurry ?? If I lived in the area, I'd be calling pretty quick. Bill
I just assumed it was a Biscayne. Didn't even notice seller was saying 'Impala'. I suspect it was done on purpose to get more hits on the ad.....
He either has the price listed incorrectly or it is a scam. Yes that is either a Biscayne or Bel-Air. In '67 the only script they had was on the quarter panel around the body line. I am assuming '68 would be the same/similar.
The 68's, the script was on the front fender. And one just a little modified........ I'll take the red one
The reason I came across that ad in the first place was I was looking for an ad my friend was posting on a true 68 impala. Some of you may remember ths story about my grandfathers 68 impala. He bought it new in FL in 1968 and drove it for about 8-10 years when he sold it to my friend whose had it ever since. I don't think he used it much, and last year sometime he contacted my mother to see if anybody in the family would want it back before offering it for sale. I was interested at the time, but I think he changed his mind and never posted. Long story short - he has to sell it now and he contacted my mother again to offer it to us first. it's currently posted on craigslist for 11,500 but he says I could get it for condsiderably less. It's not exactly how I remember it, but pretty close. It used to be a pale yellow with a vinyl top. Not sure if I like the corvette yellow he has on it now. I'm sure those wheels are different too. But, knowing him, I suspect that otherwise it's pretty much stock. Just wondering what you guys think - it does have the family history. But, I wish it were still bone-stock. http://http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/4631784058.html
Remenisin>>>>> ======================== NICE Impala Custom. I stripped one of those YEARS ago for the 327 and automatic on the floor shifter & console for my 65 Impala 4dr sedan SLEEPER with 450hp/402 & T400. Oh that car was a BEAST & a BLAST to cruise lookin for unsuspectin prey.........first night out after done got to whoop up on a 70 440 Cuda.......guy who I eventually became friends with was NOT HAPPY a 4dr whooped his lime green 'Cuda.......Ah GREAT memories!!!
This one would make a nice Friday nite cruise-in ride. The Corvette yellow is a bit loud, but the Rally's help with that. I think the price is a bit steep though. I wouldn't pay $11.5k.
