Geesh. No info, no phone number, not even a price. Could be a pretty clean wagon, could be a pretty good price, but how would anyone know??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that does not have the Country Squire front end on it. Didn't all the Squires have the hideaway headlamps that year. Obviously, that's not the original dinoc because the color and the pattern is way off, and the moldings are also not correct, color wise. I'm thinking maybe this was originally a non Squire and the guy added the wood treatment himself.

Good catch! I didn't notice that when I first looked at it.

Yes, hidden headlamps were standard on the '77 Squire. Could be what you suggested, or it could be later in its life an owner had a front end mess-up and the only used header panel available was a regular LTD.

The 'wood' looks like poorly-refinished factory parts.

Yep. Good catch. I had noticed that the dinoc and trim were the wrong colors, but didn't even think about it having the wrong front end.

Also, am I missing something, or is this a NO A/C car?

I think it is a 460. The 335 series valve covers are pretty distinctive. The mounting surface for the oil filler and breather caps are at a different angle than the rest of the valve cover.

The LTD wagon and the Country Squire differed only by the woodgrain and the Landau front end that year. Without checking the VIN it's impossible to tell which scenario is correct.

That air cleaner is typically found on 400.
Original or not, it carries open headlights well. Plus no headlight door functioning issues to deal with.

Whoops! I can see it with ebay's zoom; it wasn't clear on the small craigslist pics. What I thought was the peak on a 460 valve cover was actually the angled mounting surface for the caps I was trying to describe for the 335 series valve cover. I should have spotted the air cleaner, too.

Short of a Marti Report, it's impossible to tell whether this car started life as a Country Squire or not. Beginning in 1977, Country Squire was cataloged as an option for the LTD wagon rather than as a separate model (although it continued to be marketed as the latter); it no longer carried a separate code in the VIN. Sad.

It does look ok without the hidden headlights, but personally I prefer the hideaways. They're one of my favorite automotive feature, although they tended to be a bit more problematic in these years than they were earlier.

Neither the Di-Noc nor the surround rails are authentic. Since there is Di-Noc available that is much closer to the original (if not an exact reproduction), it makes me think that the transfer on this wagon might be some low quality generic.

Anyone else notice that there's Country Squire badging on only one side of the car?
