But you own 2 of them ??

I even own one. I'm all Chevrolet, but I found a Wrecker with a nice Holmes 440 on it. I got the whole truck for what the Wrecker Body itself was worth, so I bought it !!

But if your Fords are all original, I'm a big fan of the Flatheads. Actually am a Ford man from '53 (last Flathead) and back.

Ahem! :coffee: Back to the OP question. Summit Racing shows an adapter for converting the 327 cannister filter to a spin on and it says to use a Ford filter such as a PH8(Fram). No :naughty: toilet paper mentioned. Case closed.

Depends on the ply, Ford filter uses 2 ply tp, Fram only uses 1 ply tp:yup:

I've been waiting for some more "put downs" on Fram, lol.

I actually use a few different brands, depending on application, but still use Fram and first started using them back in 1968. There are a few of us around that stand by them. I've had great service out of my engines all through the years with Fram.

I've got many, but one quick example is, I still got the original, untouched 307 in my '72 C-10. It is just about to turn to 164,000 miles and still runs like new. Not a bit of smoke to boot and I've used Fram the whole time I've had it.

No way Fram filters will cause your care to burst into flames and explode. Didn't you see that one study 20 years ago that said they weren't any good?

I've run Fram filters on most all of my cars all to over 200,000 miles with no issues.

The way the price of TP is going, Fram filters might be cheaper!:biglaugh::rofl2:

:biglaugh::biglaugh:According to old Mr Whipple Fram filters are squeezably soft.:rofl2:

I do have two old Fords and a Mercury. But they have 350 SBC and Chevy oil filters. But I love the old flathead Fords.
The way I look at it the big three have been around in various forms for a long time so they all must be fairly good. Had a Ford truck with a 352 I believe and one with a 460. Oh yea, loved my 289 Mustang.

Everyone seems to have their own favorite filter brands, me, I use all Motorcraft as much as possible on my truck and Purolator on everything else. No Charmin and no Scott tissue here! :1st:
