So I'm driving down the road and spot a wagon sticking out of a car port and the house has a 4-sale sign on it, so I hit the brakes and drive in. I instantly notice a lock box on the front door so I figured the house is vacant. I write a note with my phone number, beat on the door no answer so I leave the note on the lock box. I then write the name and phone number of the realtor in my wallet. Well I just had to snoop under the car port at the car when a few minutes later 2 police cars show up:confused:..... and they want me! Turned out some neighbor figured a guy in a Buick wagon that was parked in the drive way was up to no good when he went under the car port :rofl2:.

So after extra police cars driving by real slow, running my license/car registration, cops petting my dogs, the note on the door with my name and phone number, me having the realtors name and number in my wallet, and explaining my addiction they let me go:p I get home, call the realtor and they forwarded my phone number to the home seller. It's the son selling the house for his 95 year old dad who is in a nursing home now, Dad bout the car new in Victoria and it's been off the road under the car port since 2000.

The wood is shot, the paint though looks like it would buff out, no dents, never been hit, covered in a thick layer of dust, but the interior is drop dead beautiful, a dark burnt orange kinda colour. Buick chrome steel wheels (not in the best shape now mind you) and amazingly a 4 tires are still holding air, low but still holding air.

The son phoned me and after a lot of BS'n we agreed on $200:29:. has registration/title and keys.

Like I needed another wagon, like a need a 5th hole in my head but.......parts, parts, parts if anything ever happens (god forbid) to my Buick.

Talk about a day with all the commotion and I didn't have my camera with me:slap:, but I'll be in the area on Thursday so I'll snap some pics. Owners son says it's phone shake deal over the phone and he'll give me 2 weeks to remove and pay etc, etc when I'm ready to have a flat deck come for it.

Boy is Deb gona be surprised when she comes home one day and see's it:taz:.............. all ways better to ask for forgiveness than permission the way I see it:pub::party5::162:............ :dancing:

Hope this street view link works, here is the beast as I found it via google street maps....................

    http://easy-street-view.com/quick_place_search/google_street_view_full?gmap=street_address:3411 Shelbourne st Victoria BC

search with this address and turn the map to your right, you'll see the wagon.:) >>>> 3411 shelbourne st victoria bc <<<<<

Soooooooooooooooooo my question for you guys, being a 82, what engine options were available for the year if any? Could I luck out and it has a 350 Buick, or the lame 307 that I have in my 87 ???

Congrats on the new wagon Tedy... I think you're going to run out of luck on the Buick 350. I think some 81's got them but the last year of production on that engine I think was 1980.

Sounds like you got a good deal. Also that is the kind of neighborhood I'd like to live in. Good neighbors.
I think your idea to surprise Deb is a good one. Wives enjoy those little surprises.

What???, the wagon or almost being arrested?:rofl2:.

Thanks guys, I kinda figured there wouldn't be anything exciting under the hood (son didn't know either) but it's all OK with me:thumbs2:

KK....... Just how the **** do you link a pic from google street view, I've never been able to do it? Wait, don't explain, I'd still never figure it out!:slap:

Yeah, it is the kinda neighborhood you would not mind at all. People looking out for people rather than turning a blind eye. I figure I'll have a extra special dinner ready for Deb when she comes home that day:rofl2:

I'd bet it was the dogs that saved you from being cuffed and stuffed.
You had to have a good eye to seen that wagon parked there.

I'm thinking, I'm blind! It's been parked there since 2000, I've driven past it a million times and only noticed it today!..... But I guess it was meant to be for me:dance: I see many a member hunting for parts that can't be found/hard to find and where I live on this island I am jealous because I'm thinking you all have it so good with all the old time wreaker yards etc, etc. I lucked out and found a spare 'parts' wagon for my Olds, but have all ways been OMG, I need to find one for the Buick.......Now I need a Beateor for parts so I can sleep at night.:D

Now what to make Deb for a extra special dinner the day it's in the drive way, that's what I have to figure out:biglaugh:

It's exactly because of situations like this that I have my own car trailer. I'd have hooked up my trailer, pulled it out of there with the winch, loaded it up and it'd be at my house............that's exactly how I've gotten in trouble with my wife in the past.

That's great! So you have a winch mounted on the front of the car trailer?

No, If I remember that sad neglected wagon was a "Dewey" would die for it Mopar that was in my old stomping grounds (close to Mt Douglas and the park where you both stood inside the tree with the natural windows and sky lite), the green one....is that what you are remembering? BTW the wagon I am talking about here people was a daily driver seen all the time when I was younger..... it was the only wagon with mags, you kinda remember these things. Now it sits and sits, and ...................
