Hello, glad I found this site, now may I can find some truly Station Wagon "knowledgeable" people.:rofl2:

I have a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Station Wagon, was looking for left inner tie rod, but the site had no pictures, nor normal GM/Saginaw part numbers for reference. So I am at a loss. Maybe you can inform me on this question. My CD Pontiac Manual shows "all" 64 wagons as "Safari", yet it goes on to reference my 2835 as a Bonneville "Custom" wagon.

So the confusion is that I do not know if I should be looking for "Safari" or "Bonneville" parts for my car. I got further confused because Drums for a "Safari" are 9" drums, and the ones on my car are 11", same as Bonneville. Can you please advise as to which part category I should look in for my searches for parts?

    Welcome aboard!

I have found with my two wagons, that there are many times when I cannot find parts on a "Vista Cruiser" or a "Custom Cruiser".

However, when I look for parts on their base models, Cutlass and Eighty-Eight, parts come right up. You might have better luck just searching under Bonneville.

Naturally, though, that only works for the front half of the car. The rear, for the most parts, is an entirely different story.

    Buz

    Thanks for the welcome

Hi AK27, HandyAndy, 1tireman, OldsWagonmaster and jmt455. Thanks for the warm welcome, I am so glad I found this "Station Wagon" forum. I love these cars, it makes me sad that so many wagons were sent to the wrecking yards and crushed.

My wife and I bought this jewel (64 Bonneville Wagon) back in 1980, and are the second owners. We have been working on her piece by piece, only using NOS parts so far, but things are hard to find in this model and year. Some are considered "Bonneville" parts, while others are "Safari", luckily most are the former.

So far we have rebuilt the 389cui, rebuilt the suspension in the front and rear, including the 3.08 rear end, and installed a new carb. Almost forgot, new NOS tail light lenses, backup lenses, and original (working) clock that is a grade of 9+ out of 10.

Enough about our "White Rabbit", enjoy your rides, they ARE all special cars. (y)

PS: this is the place I find NOS parts, good guy, honest and fair pricing, been using him for past several years. His name is Jude Danato, Obsolete Automotive Wholesale, email: 73revordnal@cox.net Tell him Danny Williams recommended him. And no, I do not get any special deals for recommendation, but appreciate fair part prices, and small family business folks.
