Busticated my laptop last night. Set it on the nightstand next to the bed while I took the dog out, walk about 10' and I hear it crash. Works, but the left half of the screen is messed up. Working on a Kindle right now. Looks like my posts will now be limited to "Great" or "I agree". Took me 15 mins to do this one, hunt-and-peck style.

You can replace those screens. We have a shop here in Salem that does it pretty cheap. "Reboot Computers".
But you might find one more local there in Springfield.

Well, I'm on the laptop, but 1/2 screen size. Faster than the Kindle though....
    Thanx for the tip, Jairus.

Sorry to hear about that :( If you keep the laptop at home, you could get a desktop screen (and keyboard) and plug it into your laptop.

How old is the laptop? May be cheaper to get a new one, especially if you mostly use it for browsing.

I have got use to posting with my phone and only use the laptop
once in awhile. Gives the wife time with the computer to
do useless things like pay the bills and junk...well ok maybe
not completely useless stuff. On my phone now.

I'm still trying to figure out how the laptop jumped off the stand?
I have an old laptop that became a paperweight. Rarely use it when on vacation.
And I still only use our phones to call home!
