Global warming is causing all of this. Just think how cold it would be if it hadn't warmed up! :slap:
I checked back on Florida weather and in the 80's it was 9 degrees on this date. It's really nothing new. It's just new to us.
I'm sure somewhere on a cave in Florida early man, or woman, scribbled how cold it was then.
Go check your local caves Andy.

I'm certainly not going to complain about 28 degrees today, it's a heatwave compared to you guys up north.

When we were in NYC Christmas 2011 it snowed on the Dec 26 and it was one of the coldest days that I have ever experienced in my life. The wind was so bitter cold that it felt like that my skin was being scratch from my face by Satan's finger nails himself... loved it all the same!

Here in Adelaide, we have a Mediterranean climate giving us hot dry summers and cold but not chilly winters, and nothing like what is going in the US at the moment. The closest you will get to that is Hobart on the island of Tasmania but even then while it gets freezing cold, nothing still compared to what you guys are going through.

On the flip side, January and February are the hottest months for us (our summertime remember) with next Wednesday being forecast 46C which is around 114F.

How long is the big freeze forecast to last?

Whew! That's really hot! Here, it's supposed to be milder (47 F) this weekend, but with 1-2" of rain. Still, 47 will feel like t-shirt weather compared with how it has been.

I remember when i was younger and I heard a study by a bunch of scientists back in the early 70's....and they said that by 2050 ..California would have the weather of West Coast Canada and that the West Coast of Canada would have Cali's weather !

Its starting to sound like it could actaully happen...not by 2050 mind ya;)

but didnt LA get below freezing a few times this year? :D

Weve had a really mild winter this year...only seen snow twice i think...and it only lasted a day or 2 each time :D

Adelaide is not supposed to be this hot!

Hi guys, I am guessing that most of you in the States would have never heard of us in little old Adelaide, with Sydney and Melbourne usually getting most of the international attention generally.

But in recent times we have had a little bit of a connection with the US however because, we built the last GTO and of course the last G8 Pontiac and we currently build the Chevy Caprice including the cop cruiser that you may or may not have seen along with the Chevy road car that the NASCA is based on. All these were/are being built in our Holden's Adelaide, Elizabeth plant (both Queens past and present) until GM pulls out from manufacturing in Australia for good in 2017.

But today we are famous around the world with our metrological friends for something else. We will be officially the hottest city on the planet! That's right we are "hot" babe!

Today we are forecast to reach temps of 46C (114,6F). No other city around the world is forecast to reach this temp today. Check this out
    http://http://www.heraldsun.com.au/...city-on-thursday/story-fni0xqrb-1226802735418

So while some of you are still frozen solid from the inside out from the big chill that spread across America, some of us here in Adelaide will need to be turned over soon because we are done!

(Incidentally, this pic of my Premier was taken this time last year at an "All Holden day" show in Glenelg S.A. It was around 40+ that day too!)

Premier, it is neither hot or cold here in the Florida boonies. That's near the mouth of the Suwannee river and the Gulf of Mexico. While you are basking in warm climates, many to our north are freezing their bottoms off. Here, it is now 51 degrees and raining like crazy. Not the greatest weather. But somehow I'm happy with it.
    Keep cool
    Everyone else keep warm.

By the way, this part of the planet is not famous for anything. Hopefully it will stay that way!
