Just bought this. Is it a wagon or not?

Had a discussion about those yesterday with my buddy who has one.
It isn't really a minivan because it doesn't have sliding doors and is therefore a modern wagon. His is a 1990 so I guess it isn't exactly modern anymore but is is a darn good machine.

No. As noted, it is an SUV. SUVs and wagons can look similar with respect to a boxy rear end, but wagons are usually based on a corresponding sedan and sit at that height. SUVs tend to be higher off the ground and based on a truck platform.

It's M "P" V, and, yes, it is one. Below is a photo of a '96. Similar taillights.

The white car is a station wagon. It appears to be a 68 or 69 Ford Falcon. As for the other being a wagon, a minivan, or an SUV, I just don't know.

Who cares what it's labeled as. If you like it and it fits your needs, that's all that counts.

    My new wagon

Well Its not a wagon according to the powers that be but I love this thing. It's a Mazda MPV 4X4. 1998 only 110k miles on the 3.0 ltr V-6 and 4 spd automatic, and the tires are brand spanking new!!! Leather interior and all the bells and whistles. Believe it or not, this thing really climbs a hill with the best of them. All push button 4X4 system and a center differential lock too. Got it cheap to boot.

Yup - not necessarily a wagon, not necessarily a mini-van, not necessarily a SUV - but it has important characteristics of all 3. I like it. I really wish Mazda had continued with a 4WD version of the next generation MPV - I might have been a customer.

One of my 'dream' vehicles is a Colt Vista 4WD.... similar in concept to your MPV

Is it 4WD or all wheel drive? The white wagon looks like my Fairlane...
