    congrats on purchasing this wagon

re: 350 Chevy V8s in cars/wagons with air conditioning - where's the _logic_ in putting the compressor on the driver's side? GM's logic at the time is what I mean.

BOP all put it on the passenger's side - Cadillac was in the middle of the timing cover (472/500). Ford also put the compressor on the driver's side didn't they? Just seems weird to me.

When the compressor is on the driver's side the high and low lines have to cross the engine compartment (extra length) and are in the way of alternator repairs...this may be a well known bit of chevy trivia but it wasn't obvious from the googler what the answer is...

Just took delivery took a month to find a truck going in my direction, I guess trucking slows down this time of year who knew. it is still covered in grime from being trucked from Tenn To Portland Oregon, I had to put a new cat on it to pass our DEQ regulations today we will see if that does the job tomorrow. I will get it cleaned up and some pics/inventory on what I got. Nice to have a wagon again, spent all day with in and the AM radio doing Christmas music. This could be my winter driver till I get that 77 country squire done with restoration mode.

Congratulations Spiceman. I'm a little confused, though; did you buy the original brown one or the white one?

If you look at the first post on this thread the brown one was in TN and that's where he said he shipped it from .. TN to Oregon..

so he got the original car for sale (the brown/tan one)

She's a beautiful wagon and with the 350 V8 that is a real plus for this car. Good luck with her.

Yes I got the brown one. it drives out nice, I got lucky as buying it without an inspection, it is a solid car. I need to get a few little plastic parts to make it how I want it, passenger taillight lens and front bumper guard rubber pad. It came with a lot of original documentation which is always cool, I am digging through it, 1979recall letters about paint and seatbelts. I will post pics when I can.

Congrats! Yeah, when I bought my Villager, it took a little while (few weeks) to find a truck going from Cali to GA, but not as long as it took you. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

here are some pics, I have already started to make it as nice as I can with a new taillight lens and front end barring's, I can't help myself and often get upside down but this one drives out real nice. need to upgrade the stereo but don't want to alter the dash look with a modern cd player.

here are some shots of the interior and my trip to get a new front end put on. clean but not perfect, I can't help my self I have to make it right. I guess I am responsible for keeping some wagons on the road. don't want to get upside down in this one, we will see by next spring, but fun for now.

That's cool looking inside too; love the old clock..

So your replacing the ball joints and such? you are making that car happy.

Wish everyone took care of their cars like that
