I built my own R&P system for my 57 Chevy wagon using a 95 Sunfire rack and machining the rack ends and making my tierod adjusters. I coppied the frame brackets off a vender. Also I bought the steering arms for the rack system. Much more info on TriFive.com, you should not need to join to read posts. Henry, Merry Christmas

Used an 84 Montecarlo tilt column and cut off the shifter and key knobs.

True life adventures about your family? :rofl2:
I miss that show. It wasn't sophisticated enough for the college town where the TV station is. But somehow many things we saw seemed so close to real for the boonies where we are.
Some thought Harold was my twin.

Thanks Hanswurst v. I agree, everything except the color. But I'd drive it!

That's a beautiful wagon. I'm sure that guy can afford it.

The guy photoed next to it sure could. The owner likely got a freebie workover from Foose, compliments of Discovery Channel's wallet

If you are still looking for a power steering solution Classic Performance Products out of California makes a nice one. I am completely satisfied with the one I installed in my Custom one of a kind 56 ElCamino.
Unlike the 605 cut and modified conversion that I was originally going to use, the CPP500 series box is the next generation with a better one piece box and easy bolt in application. It is also designed to work with your original manual steering link and has sufficient clearance with other under the hood components. They also supply installation kits for the type column you choose to use.

I had already changed my front spindles for disc brakes and found CPP also had a nice front sway bar set up that I installed. End result is a great road car that is a pleasure to drive.

Thanks everyone. If and when we do it I have a 200R4 with floor shifter and the original steering column I'd like to keep.
Plans keep changing.I also have updated disc brakes from a Monte Carlo. The front end is all rebuilt with 2" lowered springs so I'd like to keep it that way.
My wagon is not a show car. It's a cruise nite car and a driver. Can't believe it's mostly updated except power windows and steering. Paritally because once I get out of the garage it's not bad handling. Except when parking at the car shows.
