Just read that starting tomorrow, all dealer car ads will now be $5 for a 30-day run. No more multiple versions of the same ad running. This should eliminate the dealers monopolizing the for sale section.
We have this ratty 1969 Electra 225 convertible some dingbat is trying to sell for $8,000, he has it listed about ten or more times in a row for a couple of years now. It'll be refreshing to see that come to an end.
That's good. There's a local dealer who rarely if ever posts the prices in their ads. Hopefully this doesn't run over to for sale by owner ads though.
They should also go after the "used tire" maggots that seem to infest the Auto Parts section. Low lifes are all over the place.
Amen to that. It will be nice to actually see ads for the parts I'm looking for instead of a bunch of useless tires. Chuck
Also, in addition to the tire ads (they could use up an entire catagory themselves), people who are parting out a vehicle should just list the vehicle, not thirty or more ads for every part they want to sell. Itemize it in the ad!
What aggravates me is when "brokers" advertise in the "by owner" section. When recently looking for a car for my son, 75% of the "by owner" ads were from brokers. I guess their reasoning is that since they are not a full-fledged dealer, then they must be an owner. Very frustrating.
There is one particular jackass that advertises in the OKC CL for bartering the exact same crap twice a day, with at least 25 separate ads per post! He also list three separate cities to make it look like it's different people, but the contact info makes it obvious that it's the same jackass. He is also one of those guys that lists twenty parts separately off the same POS in the Parts For Sale section. There are at least ten used tire sellers that populate the parts for sale by owner section; each with 30-40 ads each. What a PITA! Krash, where did you hear this??? I've looked at the local CL and there is no mention of any of this at all.
