Well I guess an F-bomb it is. I had it on the back burner anyway. Everybody knows the Ford 9 is a proven beast. So if I save some Benjamins and have the moxy to know that my Poncho mill needs a Ford 9...well so be it. Besides, all gearheads nod in unison at the mention of a Ford 9" rear end so I guess it won't be so bad.

If it's the original rear, it's probably an 8.2" rear...not the greatest for performance.....if you can find an 8.5", you can build it to take what you want, without having to find a 9" that's the right length, get the mounts installed, etc,etc......if anyone tells you you can't build an 8.5" to take that much power, they're lying.....

A 9" will hold up, but will take more power to achieve the same result due to it's design.....I have a built 8.5" under 2 of my A bodies, both on drag radials with the same amount of power, and not a problem yet....
