If they have the 2300's, about 16 to 18 city/ 24 to 26 highway.(that's what my Mustang II got) They were gettable with a smaller engine, either 1600 or 1800, that got a little bit better than that. There were some, later in the run, that got an advertized 28 and 42. That was with the 1600 and a 5 speed manual. A possible transplant, if you could find one.

I do not recall the mpg or if I even checked it. It was too much fun to worry about that.

It still amazes me when a thirty to forty year old vehicle gets the same or better gas mileage than the 2003 Kia Optima I had. :D

The neat thing is that both cars could get significantly better gas mileage on the highway than they do right now, too. Take out the 3 speed automatic and put in a 5 speed overdrive manual or even the 4 speed mechanical AOD out of a mid to late 80s Mustang. Either would boost the mileage by a significant margin.

I agree about the A/C. I don't think either car has A/C... maybe the PO of the orange one can chime in. I distinctly remember ours having A/C, but being in the south, most 70's cars had A/C around here.

Yeah, the colors are vivid and stunning. I remember how vividly green ours was... it was a dark green metallic. I am not sure what it was officially called.

Do you recall if it had A/C? We are thinking no from the looks of the HVAC control.

Lucky! :) When they go, they go fast. I had a teeny 1/2 inch crack on the dash of my '73 Grand Ville... it was like that for about 4 years... then one day, I cant remember if it was really cold or hot, but I noticed the next day it had spread about 4 inches all the way to where the dash curves down... the same thing happened on an unusually cold morning on my moms '88 Mercedes. So far, no dash cracks on any of my other older cars - amazingly none on my '72 Caprice wagon or '93 Mercedes, both of which have black instrument panels... both have been garaged kept cars for many years however and not much sun has had a chance to work its magic on it.

Yep the orange one had cold working AC. The dash was the worst part of the car. It would require dash pad replacement to be correct.
