Chris. Hope you enjoy this very serious forum where we ony discuss station wagons and station wagon problems. As you may have noticed! There actually is a lot of good information and a few well informed station wagon members always glad to help.
68 monaco Thanks for great welcome. I found the wagon on vancouver island, through a classified ad. Emailed, called and expressed interest and hit it off with seller. Struck a deal and began formulating a plan to retrieve the wagon. Packed up the family and drove to vancouver (have in-laws there) 2 day journey, dropped kids at grandparents and had father in-law drive wife and I to ferry. Seller met us on island and we concluded deal. Wife and I jumped in and proceeded to drive it 160 miles to have quick visit with her grandmother. Woke up next morning and drove back to ferry, then back to grandparents house to visit. Took a one day breather to get ready for return trip. Hit the road with wife and i in the wagon and grandparents driving our van with the kids as our support vehicle. Two days later (1000 miles and through rocky mountains) home again. Long days but so worth it. Thourghly enjoyed driving the wagon, although the last hundred miles were tough, outside temperatures hit 100 degrees farenheit and the old classic has no A/C. It was a trip to remember for sure.
Good evening , I may be new around here however I not new to forums . Am an old guy that likes to have maximum fun . Getting ready to trade for a 1981 Ford Woody Wagon . 89,000 original miles . Owned by an elderly woman who bought it new and who kept it until she expired . She left it to a good friend of mine (another old guy) with whom I am going to trade my 1971 VW Type ll bus . Just getting over an unscheduled Triple By-Pass with a new aortic valve this past Memorial Day . Been lurking for a few days and figured it was time to jump in and say hello . Best regards , Wizzard IF you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space .
