    Phone rings....

    Me: Hello?

Misty: It's me. I just got the toll bill. What year is my Bonneville?

    Me: 1996

Misty: 1996? You mean my car is 17-years-old?? I thought it was a mistake.

    Me: Um...yes, it's17 years old...

Misty: Well that's too old! I had no idea it was that old. I drive to Dallas with OUR kids in that car. I need a newer car!

Me: Honey it's in great shape and only has 85K miles on it. Half the 5-year-old cars on the road today have more miles on them.

Misty: But they are not 17-years-old!!

Me: The Denali has 130K miles on it. Do you trust it more?

Misty: Of course, it's nearly new!

Me: It's 12 years old Honey

    Misty: It is?

    Me: Yes, it's a 2001

Misty: Well it least it was made in the 2000's!

Say to her, "You know, you're xx years old and I think I need to trade you in for a newer model."

Heh, wonder what she'd say about my 27 year old Olds. This brings to mind the wall of frying pans my grandmother has in the foyer, probably a dozen. Though she has nothing against old cars, up until recently she had a '79 Mercedes 240D that had over a half million miles on it and ran strong, wouldn't get out of the way of it's own smoke but it ran reliably and strongly. Let's see a modern car do that.

Also, once you get up into the 2000's, things where made in Mexico, not the US, take the Avalanche, assembled south of the border.

Apparantly a lot of wives don't look at this forum or there'd be a lot of frying pan casulties!:banghead3::mad:

As for me, I type in very small font and zoom way out if my wife gets near a thread like this. :rofl2:

I've been very lucky. Another month and I've served 56 years hard labor. She's a car guy, a camper, a hiker, a biker, a good cook, and she brought me lots of meals to the garage. She's even found a car or two and begged me to buy them plus she seems to get better deals than me at swap meets.
And most of all she hates computers!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
