A little more information would help. Are you looking to replace what you have, or add something new? In either case, where on the car? Have you tried your local auto sound shop, or online with a place like Crutchfield? I replaced the front, in-dash speakers on my '73 with off-the-shelf units from a local shop. They were drop-in replacements. You should be able to do the same. My car did not come with rear speakers as it had only an AM radio. But, back in the 1970s, the original owner added a single speaker in the right rear on the trim panel forward of the spare tire cover when he added a CB radio to the car. Since he'd already made a cut-out in that panel, I figured I'd make lemonade out of lemons, replace it with something modern, and add a speaker on the left side to complement it. These are standard 6 x 9 speakers bought at a local shop. You can just see them in the photo below. Of course, I replaced the radio with a modern unit as well.
Welcome 72custom cruiser. My 73 Gran Torino Wagon is all original inside with no holes in any panels. It has the original am radio with one dash speaker all working well. I wanted tunes and did not want to mess with the original set up at all. I built a custom box for the head unit complete with a small tray and painted it to match my dash. It sits on the tranny hump. I plan to post a thread about it with pictures. Wagon has been at the shop a while getting some work and dual exhaust. when I get it back i will post the thread about my stereo solution. Anyway I found some nice enclosed speakers designed for a scooter or motorcycle fully enclosed in like a cone shape chrome finnish. I mounted them under the dash with L type brackets in some existing screw holes. They tucked up there nice and look pretty cool. Good fill sound for the front. In back I installed a sub box, 6x9s in boxes designed for them. (you can get the boxes empty at most places that sell car audio) and two amps in a nice little package that sits right behind the back seat. Takes up some room in the back but no holes cut and sounds great. I will let you know when I get the thread posted.

This is a picture of the speakers I mounted in the front. It is partially showing right in the corner by the hood release. Not the best picture but you can get an idea.
Harescrambler: The front door panel hard board is perforated to allow for the factory front speakers that were optional. If you can find a pair of the factory grills, you can mount front speakers and not 'mess up' original panels, since you are simply adding a factory option. The other option there is to hope you find the inner door panels with the speaker grills in them, and simply change the panels over. Again, it will look, and be, factory original, just not OEM to that particular car.
