350 V8. It includes many desirable options like hidden headlights, fiber optics exterior lamp monitors, A/C, P/D/L and tilt wheel. http://youngstown.craigslist.org/cto/3906735614.html
I'll bet it's got other equipment as well, like PW and a power seat. Seller probably just didn't mention everything.
Those bumper guards were optional too I think? Would be a great one to restore for someone with the budget.
One of my favorite all time wagons! When I was in my 2nd year of college at O.S.U. I drove a '69 Belair 4-door with a 327, AM-FM 8-track and working air being the only real luxuries. One of my roommates in the Co-Op showed up from Christmas break with a '69 Brookwood that had a 454 under the hood! I was so jealous..... for the engine that is. Turns out the 327 was plenty of engine as I drove that car for a couple more years till I wrecked it.
It makes me miss my '69 Caprice 4-door hardtop sport sedan. It was optioned much like this one, with the hideaway headlights, power locks, power disc brakes, tilt and A/C, but it also had power windows and a 396.
This was one spectacular wagon in its day. Hopefully someone can buy and bring it back to that kind of condition. A huge amount of potential here, and the equipment level is quite something. Wonder if it has the 'traction aid' system.
I am surprised someone else knows what "the traction aid system was" I don't think you could get it on the wagons as there was no place to mount the drivers side traction compound on a wagon. Could be a nice car
Yes, the traction aid system was available on the wagons. Some did get it, but not very many. I wonder if you can still get the special fluid, or if you have to come up with your own. Did these have a reservoir on each side, or one that fed both sides with a pump, similar to the wind screen washers?
