If you MUST have a K-Car, this is the one to have. Wonder, though, how many miles are on it. He only mentions the 17,000 on the rebuilt engine.

Very true. We had two K-Car derivatives (they were Shadows) when I was a kid. Both had 2.2 engines I think. Those cars had well over 200,000 before they died. I hardly remember them being in the shop for anything. So from experience and memory, I must say, despite all the jokes out there, fact is, these cars were very reliable transportation in their day. There was a reason why Chrysler sold so many K-Cars and K-Car derivatives. There is a reason they got those loans paid back early. If it weren't for these cars, we the tax payers would have lost that money on the 1979 loan and none of the Mopars made within the last 25-30 years would have ever been a dream or thought. No Vipers, PT Cruisers, Prowlers, Challengers, modern R/T's, no Dodge Ram (as we know it), none of the Shelby Mopars would have been built, etc.

I have said for years these K-Cars may not be the next '57 Chevy, but they will be collectible in the future. They even made Jay Leno's list.

Mr. Barney, I notive you mention a 1983 Plymouth Scamp? Those are even more rare than the Dodge Rampage. I can't imagine very many were built and likely only a handful are still around. Would you mind posting pictures of it?
