I haven't posted here in a while (Except for asking help on my transmission barfing up it's fluid)

So I thought I'd throw an idea out, here's a thread to post the things you like most about your wagon. I know most people don't understand why we own these tanks, I've had several people tell me I should turn in my Rust bucket 88 (Custom Cruiser), but I won't.

So, I'll start off, and keep it short.

The things I like most about my tank are very simple,

Reliability, sure the transmission is acting up now and some would say that's unreliable, but I'm the idiot who put new fluid in a transmission with old fluid, so that's my own fault.

Gas mileage, I know you're thinking, "Wait, what?", but think about it, I have a 4,200lb car (roughly) with a (roughly) 200HP V8 that gets about 14-17 in town depending on how I drive it, and 19-22 highway. That isn't bad considering I'm driving a couch. Hell all told, that's great.

Comfort, can't beat the comfort of two or two and a half tons of steel with a couch bolted in it rolling up the road. Plus sitting far back behind that piece of sheet metal that is the hood is very amusing. It's almost like looking out over the deck of an aircraft carrier.

Practicality, alright mister Prius, let's see you fit your living room in your car. Sure I can't either, but what don't fit I can tow! Couch on the roof, coffee table, TV, and end tables in the back of the car, recliner in the trailer. My family has strapped a couch to the roof of this car before. Also, it's a tail gater repellant to have a couch on your roof.

Lastly, durability, I know this seems like the same as reliability, but in my book it's not, you can have a VERY reliable car that's also very fragile. Hit a curb or something and you've FUBAR'd a CVC joint or something. But this tank does not care, speed bumps, train tracks, rough roads, it does not care. Even the wheels are pretty much indestructible.

    In a word: flexibility.

I can haul just about anything I need and it was LOT cheaper than buying a truck!

Plus, I don't like driving trucks anyway....

And of course, it is DIFFERENT. Doesn't look like every other vehicle on the road.

Well that's a good oxymoron...how about just say, "It's reliable when it runs":rofl2:

Bummer about your trans, but I'm not seeing the connection re- old vs new tranny fluid? I've never heard of that and personal over the years dumped new fluid in while the old tranny fluid looked like motor oil in beaters, never a problem:confused:

What I like about my wagons......

    No Monthly payments:dance:

'cept gas payments, but I'd rather have gas payments than car payments!

What I like most about my wagon? It's unique - I have never seen another one.

It's solid - no rust, never been hit. All the other old cars I've had were suffering from rust or body damage. All the original fenders are still on it - you can still feel and see the factory spot welds. My wagon doesn't have any structural or rust issues.

It's a little obnoxious, a little sinister - low, loud, driven faster than it should be. Side pipes get right in people's ears when they pull up next to me. I wish it shot flames. The dark tinted windows can't been seen through from the outside. Allows me to get my freak on whenever I like....

It's got a hood scoop - I always wanted a car with a hood scoop... part of that obnoxious/sinister vibe.

Sinister? I can relate to that, I've been told my wagon looks like a prop from a B horror movie. I, personally find that to be amusing. It would also explain why when I park it at Wal-Mart, when I come out there isn't anything on either side most times. :D

'course it could just be the spaces are so narrow I'm nearly on both lines, but I'd like to think they're just afraid of it.

What do I like most about my wagon?

    1. Comfort
    2. Comfort
    3. Comfort
    4. Power
    5. No payments
    6. Road trips (made great by 1,2.3)

You just can't beat 'em for pleasure and ease of driving. Combine that with the wagons functionality and you have an unbeatable combination.

Plus, wagons were built by people who were looking straight ahead.

Who it made by = It says Dodge on the Hood on both fenders and the tailgate ,so my guess is it is a Ford 4. It has no window frames ? Yes it is a hardtop ,what is that. And on and on. :rofl2:

Fat Tedy isn't fooling anyone. We all know that what he likes most about his wagons is that the dogs can ride in the back. What the dogs like most is that sometimes Tedy lets them drive.

As for me, I don't know what i like best about my Plymouth wagon. I bought it two years ago and haven't seen it in person yet. As for the Passatt wagon, what I like most about it is that it will eventually be replaced by the Plymouth.

It is one of just a few left

It has been my dream car since many years before I found it

It is a car that I've shared many phenomenal moments with my wife traveling through Canada and the USA.

It is a car that we have shared many incredible times with our friends we've met through having this wagon.

It was the motivator for finding this forum and so many online friends

It is one of those things one acquires in their life that becomes a part of your make up, your character, it reflects your tastes and through building the wagon your way, (and rebuilding it), it becomes your art.

The "Ugly" bumpers. They are growing on me. The back one IS a step bumper. You could throw a winch in either one. The compliments at every stop never get old and thank every fan.
