I'm having a minor issue with my Di-noc. It's very brittle on any area that isn't flat - around the door handle recesses and the door edges. Biggest chip is maybe 3/8ths inch on the RT front door. I'll probably have to look for something to patch in eventually.

This Caprice in red was fairly popular color that year, IIRC. Seem to remember a lot of these being around. Sold well in its first year for this body style. Be interesting to compare '77 big wagon sales - Ford vs. Chevy. I'll bet the Chevy won this year. The Ford would still be aircraft carrier-sized for another year after this.

    EDIT:
Found some production info on the '77 Chevy. Couldn't find anything on Ford....
    37,108 - Impala 2 seat
    28,255 - Impala 3 seat
    22,930 - Caprice 2 seat
    33,639 - Caprice 3 seat
    -----------
    111,932 - Total
That breaks down to 50,038 2-seat wagons and 61,894 3-seat wagons.
Didn't realize this, but there were no full-size lower line wagons in '77 (like 'Bel Air' or 'Brookwood')

If the third row seats had a generic stitch pattern on all GM wagons, you could extend your search and better the odds you'd find something. For example, Ford and Mercury wagons shared the same third row seats (at least in some years).

IMHO - if this fits 90% of your wants - and it is priced correctly - and it was me in your position - I'd buy it. I'd look for the 3rd seat, you know there will be one out there somewhere. The other GM wagons of similar years should all have the same 3rd seat hardware and an upholstery shop would have little issue making the seat look the same as the rest of the car. How often does a wagon come up that otherwise fits your preferences? Just sayin.......

I agree. These wagons are harder and harder to find. There was a '79 Caprice Estate for sale last year in Asheville NC that had everything I wanted except the 350 V8. I even went to see it. I hesitated for several days, and by the time I was ready to buy, it was gone. I messed up and let it get away. :(

Man that car looks like my Fathers old 77 Caprice!!! Exept that it has quite a few more options, like Guage Package, Split Front Seat with Arm Rest, remote Passenger Side mirror, and heated rear glass. But interesting that it has power locks and manual windows!!!!
That Caprice wagon was the very 1st car my Father ever Bought with A/C!

The 82 Caprice had all the options exept wood grain!!!!

Sold for 3500 back in April. Let's see what it does a month and half later advertised on the same site with 0.4 miles more on the odometer!
