We were out for a drive this afternoon seeing the scenery before having a nice steak dinner in the north El Paso area (the "Edge of Texas Steakhouse and Saloon" is highly recommended), and I happened to see this '62 (not '64 as I originally thought) Ford Country Sedan behind the fence at a metal recycling yard just north of El Paso. While the flat tires would preclude driving it away, it didn't look all that bad. There was no price or a For Sale sign on it, but I have to believe it could be bought if one were to call them. Someone should save it and could have a lot of fun with it. With the exception of the rear bumper, it looks pretty much intact, trim-wise. I couldn't see the left side of the car from where I was standing. I've posted a photo of the yard's sign with their phone numbers if anyone is interested.
Took a ride to look at a 62 Impala wagon - about 50 miles one-way, partially in my friends 94 RMW. Whatta boat! Reminded me of the Limo's I used to drive! Supposed to be a 'barn find' - not even worth the trip! Needed EVERYTHING! Not run in at least 10 years - musta been put away covered with salt - all eaten up - even aluminium mldgs eaten up! Only thing good were the wider wagon wheels, with flat tires!! Hoping for a 9-pass 409 - guess we can wish!!!
