The '77 Estate Wagon has 138,000.
It uses one quart of oil in 5,000 miles.

256,000 on my '92 Custom Cruiser. The transmission has been gone through but the engine and diff. keep on tickin'. Within the last year I replaced the original water pump and starter and when it hit 250,000 I finally replaced the factory ignition wires.

Wow, some of you have really racked up the millage. My 72 Beteor shows 66000 miles but I believe it has rolled over. The 87 Buick has 190000KM's = apx 118000 miles. the 82 olds has a for real 88000KM's = apx 54000 miles but it's years of living outside has given the paint that patina finish:(. Heck, even my honeys 99 mini van that is my mule now only has 145000KM's = apx 90000 miles. Hard to rack up millage when you drive on a island, you don't really have any where to go.;)

Fannie has...72,000 but like you I don't know if it has rolled over or not...probably I guess, but I wonder if that is all that she racked up. She lived in the same town(Yarmouth) as the dealer where she was sold. And we bought her from a guy who lived within an hours drive of Yarmouth. Could it be possible that that's all the miles she racked up??? Guess we'll never know.

I recently passed the 16,000 mile mark that I've personally put on my '58 since I got it on the road a couple years ago. Can't be positive, but I'm guessing the 90,000 that was on the odometer would have been the first time around. Still the original engine and up until a few months ago it was the original 3 spd manual transmission. (Now a 4 on the floor!)

Currently the odometer shows 59,124 miles, but It is believed that that isn't correct. I don't believe it is over 100,000, the car shows much lower miles than that. I have only had the pleasure of putting about 3 miles on her so far (I'm waiting on the title) driving around the yard.

Great pictures of some very cool cars here! Sounds like there are many of you that keep racking up the miles. We are leaving for a long weekend with the Grandkids to the Smokey Mountains tomorrow. Will take the 92 Olds and put a thousand more mile on it.

Ahhhh.....the old Smoky Mountains. My aunt and uncle used to take we 3 kids on vacation with them every year. They had just bought a new 1959 Ford wagon that year and had taken it to the dealer for service, oil change, tire rotation, etc.

This was the days before superhighways and everything was two lane roads. We were nearing the peak of a mountain on a curvy road when we heard something like gravel being shaken in a tin can. Upon examination, my uncle discovered that every wheel had at least one lugnut rolling around inside the hubcaps. The dealership hadn't tightened them during the tire rotation and it's a wonder we made it as far as we did (central IL almost to Chattanooga, TN) without losing a wheel..

Ever been high up in the Smokey Mountains on a narrow winding lonely two lane road pulling an RV with a station wagon and been hungry for breakfast? Then smell fried eggs?
Got in a hurry when leaving central Illinois and didn't bother to add a voltage transformer or relay splitter. Camped over night somewhere using the RV battery for lights. So when the alternator was charging the low RV battery it was overcharging the wagon battery. :banghead3:

Back from Townsend TN. Had a great weekend and think we drove about 1000 miles in five days. The wagon performed perfectly. Our cabin was at the top of a mountain and I felt like we were going straight up just before reaching the driveway. My guess is the people who own this place have four wheel drive vehicles. Even my wife said the car did well.

Now I just have to clean up all the peanut butter the grandkids spread around in the "way back".[IMG]
