I don't know how Toyota gets away with selling so many Corollas - it being a very dated design. All new Corolla coming out for 2014, though.

There's nothing wrong with dated designs. Not only are many of SWF member's cars of dated design but many of us are ourselves rather dated designs. :D

P.S. would rather have a vintage 70's Corolla than a focus myself.

Mom loved her Focus wagon. She'd prbably still have it if the subframe hadn't rusted out.

I PREFER dated design! There is not one single new car on the market that interests me enough to drag my sorry @$$ off the couch and down to the local car dealer, and I don't care who builds them. I simply do not care about the new vehicles at all.

I'm having trouble here trying to focus! One has a rotten frame and the other rolls over----and that's a good thing?

Oh, yes, very much! Haven't been able to do much to it yet, other than a new headliner. But it rides beautiful, and seems to be really holding up well for a 32 year old vehicle - very solid.

I'm afraid I have to take all the blame for the roll-over. In fact, it was so nice inside the Focus during the roll, it felt more like an amusement ride than a crash.

I'm sure guys know my feelings on the Focus. :D Doesn't matter to me if it is the #1 car in the world, it still won't make me buy another one!

I've had a few late model Fords other than a Model A and Model T. My 1977 Ford super cab 460 was the only lemon in the bunch. Two engines just out of 10,000 mile waurantee. But I actually loved my little 1987 Ford Escort 2 door hatchback. Drove it all over the Midwest, up north, and to Florida and back to Illinois. Only complaint is it wouldn't float when I went thru a three foot deep puddle along the Suwannee River. But 50MPG made up for it.
Didn't buy a new Ford pickup because down here they sell like they are gold plated and I'm on an aluminum retirement.

I've been very happy with all four of the the Fords I've had over the years,
My newest one was a 1988 Colony Park, my oldest a 1960 Falcon.
If you count my very first car, a 1959 Anglia, thats five. That one was rock solid reliable, too.
The new Taurus and the Focus look good, but kinda pricy for me.
You'll never see a Korean car in my driveway, and my mother and I both owned brand new problematic Toyotas. Hers was a 1975 Corona, mine was a 1982 Corolla SR5.

No thanks, I'll drive American cars.
