Hey guys. My dad owns a 62 Buick invicta wagon, and if you know those cars, you know they aren't common, and parts are practically impossible to find.:banghead3: The car needs a lot of work, inside and out. One thing it need is the rear tailgate motor and mechanism. It's been robbed of it, God only knows when, and we were wondering if any of those old gm wagons have the same parts? Also if any of the other wagons have the same front suspension? Thanks for your time.

Innards from just about any full-size GM wagon, '61-'64 should fit.
A lot of the front suspension stuff should carry over as well. Guys at salvage yards will have the Hollander interchange books that will give specifics.

Should be GM B-body 1959-63/4 parts.

Dear Andrew, Krash, and fans of mature GM long-roofs,

    According to Wikipedia:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Invicta

You should be safe with original GM B-body mechanical parts for 1959-63. Krash may indeed be correct about 1964 as well. My wagon is 1965 and I find it plenty hard enough to get parts for it, so I don't keep track much beyond that.

I'm afraid, you'll have to play the salvage yard search game. Also, if you haven't started, check out eBay, but be prepared for a long waiting game for the parts you want to come up for sale. The only reproduction GM wagon parts I know about are for 1964 and later.

Sure wish I had more encouraging words to say, but alas, it t'aint goina' be easy. [IMG]

    Cheers, Edouard

:Welcome:to the wagonh train, Andrew. If you don't mind a lot of calls and emails here's an online super parts site for used stuff.....
    http://car-part.com/

I have found that it is a little time consuming but I can usually score when I can't locally. Good luck.(y)
