This is my favorite time of the year here in Texas. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, and roads are all lined with wildflowers. My motorcycle buddies keep sending me pics of their rides in the hill country. I'm dying to go ride myself. People that have never been to Texas always seem to think it's all desert and cactus, cattle and cowboys. It's always a shock when they actually visit. My friend Ben from New Jersey brought his uncle down here some years back for a spring ride and visit. His uncle was born and raised in New Jersey and had never been south of the mason/dixon line. He was first shocked by how long it took to get to Austin once they crossed into Texarkana (6-hours), and then he said "I can't believe I've been in Texas for hours and not seen anyone on a horse yet". Anyway here's some recent pics from just west of Austin. I'm ready to bolt for the door now! Who wants to go for a ride/drive??? -Mike
And just think that if it wasn't for Lady Bird it would be all pucker brush 'n cactus. I can just picture her now with ah little pail an hand shovel on her hands an knees lookin' out from under her Sun Hat stuffin' them Blue Bonnets in the kalechi
It was sad. Saw her a time or two out on 290 west of the ranch almost to fredericksburg on her hand's 'n knee's in the afternoon sun and she was sweatin' like ah stuck hawg. I think ole' man Johnson even rationed her water intake Good thing fer her she out lived the ole' coot:2_thumbs_up_-_animaNice pix as always Mike, More memories come flooding back, Jer
Yeah, those are some real nice pics, you sure have shown to me any way that Texas is a stunning place And like so many who have the standard stereo types of what Canada looks like..... I'll have to admit, this is what I thought and some times still think when it comes to Texas... Both pics, no flowers, and just nothing for miles around
Nice pictures Mike. It's been bike ridin weather here most of the year. Sadly we missed Daytona Bike Week when a few extra bikers arrive in Florida.
