    Hi guys,

I have a question concerning some difficult to find parts for my 1972 Dodge Coronet Station Wagon

I have heard that some parts of a plymouth satellite or a dodge monaco from the same year will fit.

Does anyone know how much of that is true? I am especially interested in a couple of doors, but not really sure if they will fit.

    thx. Willem

From what I understand quite a few parts interchange between the Coronet and Satellite, it was true with a few items on my 74'. I would imagine the Monaco as well.

Get to know the guys at your local auto salvage yard. They have big books there called the Hollender parts interchange manual - tells you what else fits your vehicle.

From what I know about your wagon, the 'greenhouse' area is the same on the Coronets and Satellites - meaning all the glass, roof panels, etc. are the same. The doors themselves should have the same internal parts, but the outer skin could be different (or, it could be the same....) All the mechanical stuff would be the same as well.

Thanks!! Doors I'm not sure about, KK is right about the Hollender manual, it has all the interchange specs. I know on my wagon the body line was quite different from the sedan version. Especially on the low side of the rear doors.

Coronet and Satellite used the same front doors. Rear doors may have a different skin, although the doors themselves will fit. The character lines may not line up. The later, downsized, Monaco and Fury will use the same front door, although the large, full sized Monaco will have the same door as the later Royal Monaco. These will also have the same door opening as the Chrysler Newport and New Yorker and Plymouth Fury/Gran Fury, again depending on the year/size. Hollander's is the only sure fire way to know what transfers from one to the other, in terms of body panels. Mechanically, though, the cars are twins/triplets/quadruplets.

From what ive been told by another mopar wagon guy is that the doors from a coronet sedan are the same with the exception of the rear doors, the window frame from the old wagon door would need to be re-used on the sedan door to fit the tapered roof line. Hope this helps.
