If you are going to change the cam as well then I would definitely recommend the Edelbrock set. I ran the performer set on a 455 and it was flawless. I don't remember the part numbers but the set comes with carb intake and cam. Just call Edelbrock or, better yet, just call Summit and tell them you want the kit for your application. Trust me, you'll love the results.

Edelbrock combo sounds good for this one...

I'm gonna agree with the guys who've already suggested an Edelbrock Performer intake & carb combo. Sounds like improved mpg is a given.

As you've already upgraded things on the exhaust side, it makes sense to do the same with induction. I've had Edelbrock carbs and intakes on numerous engines and they always ran great. Those carbs are easy to tune and work on.

Dual-plane intake is the way to go if you're staying stock or close to stock with the cam. I'd replace the timing set even if you don't change cams, simply for reliability's sake... but then if you go that far, and you're gonna have the intake off as well, maybe sliding in a new cam & lifters at the same time isn't a bad idea.

Assuming, of course, that the rest of the engine is in decent shape. If she's getting tired, maybe not (how's the compression?) unless it's a stock-spec cam. At any rate though, the carb & intake swap can only be good.

what about swaping out the metering block on the 2B. I would think you would
improve mpg.. and keep your low end grunt. but then I have already forgot what kind of carb we are talking about. but it worked for my holley. but its still a very
    cold blooded so and so
