Hello all! I'm the proud owner of a 88 Olds Custom Cruiser (for now). We call it "The Ark" since our 3 Golden Retrievers love to ride in it! They fight over the back rear-facing seat! This isn't my first wagon though. My very first car was a gold 1973 Volkswagen Square Back. That car and I grew up together considering it was the same age as I was! My husband isn't as thrilled with The Ark as I am though. I found it as a quick fix "beater" car to drive while my minivan was in the shop. Well, the van is back and Hubby is ready to sail The Ark out of our driveway! My cousin offered to take it off my hands to use as a derby car and I nearly fainted! I told him to forget it! If and when I let The Ark go, it will need to go to someone who loves and appreciates the big old wagons! So you'll probably see The Ark paddling around Columbus, OH. Go ahead and stare, everyone else does! I know they are just jealous!
a girl in love with her wagon in the immortal words of Paris Hilton..........'thats hot'........ enjoy your stay
as minnie pearl would say HOWDIEEE,,, oooppps sorry hee haw is on but seriously i love my oldsmoboat,,,,i keep thinkin of sellin it but everytime i get behind the wheel i just fall in love again,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The end is near..... My husband told me that The Ark has to go. The van is fixed and he wants his part of the driveway back. Any suggestions on how to convince him that we need to keep it? The fact that it's a "classic car" is not working. He isn't buying it. If I can't find an excuse to keep it then I need to find a good home for it. Anyone have room for another wagon in their family? I need someone who would appreciate The Ark for the true classic beauty that it is!!!! Please help!!!
A woman can always find a way to get her way. Threaten to stop cooking or cleaning or something. Or, if that doesn't work, you know the old trick about "if you really love me..................."
I don't think the cooking and cleaning thing will work. I don't do either of them now! Any other suggestions? I can't withhold clean laundry either, he does his own! Dog gone it, I have him trained too well!!!
Apparently not (trained) if he's insisting on getting rid of the Ark. How about: "Honey, since the van is fixed don't you think we should limit the milage?" And then teach him to enjoy the Ark! :icon_drive:
