Hello all! My name is Jerome and I am from north Alabama near the Huntsville area. I have always been into cars and hot rods and pretty much anything you could put a wrench or socket on. Started life as a Chevy man when I was a teen and then became a Ford man after playing with them for a while. I don't discriminate though. If it's cool or fast I like it. I have a list of cars below. My baby of course is the 92 Mustang with the 03 Cobra Engine with a 3.4 Whipple on top. It also has the dash and interior out of the SN95 mustang. It was the last thing that I have built with my busy life since then. It was in 5.0 Magazine 2 times though. I have recently got remarried and now we are a family of 5. We have 3 boys at 4, 13, and 15 years old. The tow olds ones are my wife's and the love cars. I have been teaching them how to work on them every chance I get. From changing oil to changing valve cover gaskets. I actually gave the 15 yo a 2001 Focus for his 15th birthday. The catch was the car needed a new engine. I figured this would give him the whole year to save up money and buy parts to fix it and make it his car before he just in a car that was given to him. It also helps teach the value of a dollar and he will know all the different parts on the car. I also told him I will help him do whatever he wants to with the car that it totally up to him and his budget. Because when I originally bought the car I was going to convert it to V8 and rear wheel drive. Well I have my Mustangs and the Wife (Oh yeah she is into cars too)has her Camaro but neither seat 5. I started looking for a Station wagon for the family. I wanted something Old and cool looking. I preferred it to be something that wasn't all shiny that I had to clean for a day before we went to shows. I have done that with my mustang but don't have the time for that with my schedule these days. I also like the Rat Rod scene and there are lots of those around here. I had been looking for months and found tons of deals on different things but I kept coming back the 59-60 Brookwoods, Parkwoods, and Kingwoods. I really like the fins and lines on these cars. I wanted a 3rd row rear facing seat but haven't run across many of them that are not rusted to the ground. Well I didn't find exactly what I was looking for but I am currently working on a purchase of a 1960 2 door Brookwood. The car is super solid on the body and only needs some small patches in the floor. If the guy doesn't sell it before Saturday I am driving 6 hours to pick it up. I will be hounding you guys to help me finds some of the trim that is missing. Any way that is me in a nut shell. I hope to make this place my home for help as I work my way through this project. I work in Huntsville too. Is the car in your avatar for sale on craigslist right now? It looks just like one of the pictures I saw when I was looking around a few days ago. Thanks all!
Welcome from Georgia! Hope the Brookwood works out for you. Post up some pics of the Stangs. Would love to see them.
Here are the only photos I have on the computer here of them. I will add a few more later. The Cobra has ghost flames as well.
Welcome.... Greymare, Welcome to the forum. All of us guys near Huntsville need to get together as the weather warms up for a meet and greet. I'm in Woodville, east of Huntsville, and used to have an auto repair shop in Huntsville. David.
to the wagon train, Grey. Is that your car list or the ones parked at the local drag strip?!! Glad you found us....keep us up to date on that wagon.
What he said, that is an amazing list of cars. Do you own all those right now? Excellent intro by the way. Congratulation with your new family. Sounds like your doing a fine job teaching your son the true facts of life. I bet #1 son was ecstatic to get a car for his birthday? Good luck with the Brookwood, hope you get it! to SWF, glad you found your way here.
