Hello all!, We picked up a wagon, a 62 wagon,a 62 oldsmobile wagon, a 62 oldsmobile wagon super 88 with air, power windows, tail gate, power seats, tinted glass and roof racks. Our plans are to starfire it using my starfire as a doner ( frame is shot) swapping out the drive trane, adding the buckets and console. This is a father/daughter project (she's 17) and wants this car. We might add the trim down the sides (I reproduce these panels( JASWEST) so this part won't cost much as I'll use up my seconds). We might air bag it and add laker pipes with gates allowing for duel exhaust or straight pipe out the sides. About me, married with 3 children and way to many projects but kids come first so I'm making room in the shop and bringing in the new pair to start the build. Once I get them in I'll post some pics, right now they are tarped on the front lawn under snow. Car list right now starts with a 49 caddy fleetwood series 60. the 62s then we have 3 63 98 convertibles, 2 63 98 custom sport coupes and a 6 window, we are using the 6 window along with a coupe to build a custom convertible for the other daughter and a 93 98 touring sedan full jam car. Our regular fleet of daily drivers start with the work horse, 95 chev suburban 4 wheel drive tow package, 96 chev club cab Z71 4 wheel drive pick up,2002 olds bravada ( rolled a month ago and can't get rid of it yet), a 2002 jeep liberty and a 2004 olds bravada to replace the rolled one. The toys with engines start with the harley-davidson golf cart, pasquali 4wheel drive articulating tractor with front end loader and 2 speed take off ( what a rush flying around the yard on this) and the usual lawn mowers and 4 wheelers . You might get the feeling that I'm an Oldsmobile kinda guy and you would be right, I've had an Olds since high school (63 98 sedan and a 65 98 convertible), sorta explains why I chose the handle OLDSKEEPER! Happy to be here and looking forward to some answers from you guys when I hit a snag on this build. Steve
Welcome to the SWF...... Was this the '62 that was in Arizona (or Texas?), and needed complete restoration, and the yard wanted $10k? - We talked a lot about that wagon.
I love the Dad / daughter part, sounds like a load of fun, good luck, and waiting patiently for pictures
Welcome Oldskeeper. I was an Olds man until I switched to Suburbans. I bought a new 71, 73, and 76 Olds 98. I still have the drivetrain from the 76 we put in my son's 72 Suburban. I too like the father/daughter project experience. They grow up so fast these days.
Thanks for the hearty welcome, this is a Califoria car that made it's way north about 10 years back. I did check out the wagon at desert valley for ten grand (blue one) and the one posted here from craigs list, we found this one on Kijiji in a nearby town. I'll post some pics as soon as I get her in and figured out, this is a tan on tan wagon but that will change as my daughter has picked light blue on blue but a special blue not a regular blue and the starfire is blue on blue which helps. I have a 455/th400 from 68 just waiting to go in to the suburban when the 350 blows up and then it will have a real tow package. I remember back in high school a buddy of mine had an astra wagon and we would go all over in that thing, great little pontiac with a 4 banger in it. Steve
Welcome aboard! That's quite the list of cars/toys you've got! Have fun with your father/daughter project.
Excellent intro Steve, aboard to you and your daughter. Hope you enjoy the forums. Looking forward to seeing your resto. From just north of Halifax.
