I came here because I'm interested in knowing whether or not there may be hidden facts about some of the wagons I remember riding in my younger years. My mom claims to remember that one of the first cars she ever drove was a 1955-56 Chevrolet 210 3-door wagon (not Nomad) painted midnight blue, followed by a Rambler that my dad bought in the '70s. The first wagon I remember riding in was the 1983 Ford "Fox" LTD painted red. It was a basic powertrain with its 3.3L "Thrift-Power" inline six engine and C4 automatic transmission (no four-cylinder engine nor the manual transmission was available for this wagon). The wagon was originally purchased new that year by my late maternal great-grandmother (1911-2005) while she was married to her second and last husband (he died ten days before my sixth birthday). It became my parents' ride in 1989, being there for 12 years before they gave it up in favor of an ex-police-duty 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan. ~Ben
Welcome to the SWF, Ben. You're just up the road from me. Got a few SWF members in the Oregon area. We're going to put together a cruise in the spring... Marshall
