to the joint Tony dude...you should keep her....thats a freekin good lookin Rumbler !!! with a CB and Bucket /console....dang man...Id sure like it !!
Tony. Nice car...and a solid car, as well. In college, a drunk driver in a '67 Ambassador wagon ran a stop sign in front of me and I plowed into him at 50 mph with my '88 Cougar. My Cougar...crushed and twisted from the windshield forward...with the engine on the tarmac. His Ambassador...a dent in the right-rear-passenger door. They're indestructible. Stick around and have some fun!
That is a great console - what a cool looking interior. Definitely looks like it's worth keeping. It looks like there is a lock on the console. Is that what it is?
Got the Rambler running today. Cap, rotor, points, and condenser is all she needed. Very easy access dropped fuel line in 1 gal. can, jumper cables, shot of gas, woooohhoooo!!! Siphoned the gas to find it bad but clean, 17 years old stank. Wagon has original spark plug wires and they look mint. Must have been in Ideal storage conditions being from the Northeast its whole life. I'm going to put 5 gallons of gas tomorrow and see what happens. Car shifts easily, test drive for sure.
Drove it to the garage today 250', well brakes are sticking. Motor has quieted down, going to change oil probably should have done it first. Connected tank added gas and off we went. Needs a muffler and maybe donut gaskets it sounds like its leaking, I hope its not a mouse nest. Motor is crisp, found out today its a 287 not the 327 I thought it was, ran the numbers. Now that its in the garage I'll give it a once over should clean up nice. If it runs and drive good enough I may torture my wife with it in the spring. Its growing on her, the kids are no problem they love old cars. AM radio will need to be upgraded maybe glovebox unit? I don't want to touch anything. Tires? Whitewalls? not sure like gt500 wheels maybe stock.
