Southwestern Virginia? Wow. How about just Virginia? Or just the east coast? Or just the United States? :)

You don't see station wagon-only shows because there just aren't enough wagons in any one area, and their owners are not organized on a local level. You need a critical mass of old cars of any one type or marque to make a local-level show that features that type or marque successful. That's why your local cruise-ins and car shows will let just about any car in, even a 2013 pickup truck if it has enough goofy decals on the side. You need numbers to make a car show successful, and even shows open to anything often have only a couple dozen cars. Try to hold a show just for station wagons and there will likely be just two cars there: yours, and it's reflection in your sunglasses.

The International Station Wagon Club has an annual show, usually somewhere in the northeastern quadrant of the U.S. Their 2013 show is apparently going to be in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I went to the ISWC show in 2011 in Pittsburgh, and it was a great event, but there couldn't have been more than 30 cars there. And this was in the densely populated northeast. I doubt they'd be successful if they ever tried to hold it in, say, Denver because station wagon fans are just too few and far between to make any one location like that close enough to enough of them that enough will make the decision to attend the meet and make it successful.

    Virginia Wagon Meet

Dead Reckon, I live 10 miles from Harrisonburg Va. on I-81 so if you want a wagon meet that won't take long to accomplish, after all there are 3 wagons in Va. in this thread alone. One of the guys said there is one in Front Royal which isn't far, if some one knows the dates we can meet there. Food lion parking lot in Lexington or in my front yard whatever say the word, I retired in May so I'm good to go! If you look to the right of my wagon I have room for twenty cars anyway. I got a nice write up in Chevelle World yesterday SWEET! Ben

Got a lot more feedback on this than expected, also, I've never seen that many 90's B bodies wagons in my life, and I'm just old enough to remember when those things where new.

Anyway, I know of about eight B body wagons in the Roanoke valley, from the 80's on the road, and about 10-12 total, counting the wrecked parts wagon I have.

One guy on the other side of town has four or so Custom Cruisers of the same generation as mine, never spoken too 'em, but his driveway is a yacht club.

As I said though, my wagon isn't at all show worthy, it's pretty rough. I was just hoping to stumble onto somewhere that the local wagon owners meetup, guess there isn't really anywhere like that. Even when I'm done with my '86, it's just gonna look like an '86 Olds Custom Cruiser Panel Wagon, which never existed from the factory as far as I know.

I can't really drive outside of town as it is now, no job, that's why I was looking for a local meetup, but once I find work again, something within about 300 miles one way would do. That's about an entire highway tank of gas, so it would be about $160-180 round trip in gas.

Harrisonburg is easily within driving distance, could almost make it there and back on a tank of gas, which is great, 'cause it costs about $80-90 to fill the tank. Anyone else hate the pain of a 26 gallon gas tank? :D . Anyway, like I said, was hoping for something local, but before warm weather hits I should have another job. Could maybe see if we could round up some of the VA wagons between now and then.
