Are these cars this low from the factory or does he just have the suspension "laid out"? Do they still have the hydronuematic suspension?

That is the stance when the hydropneumatic suspension is in the full lowered position.

The ad shows 220,000 km, which is 137,500 miles. Pretty good miles for any twenty-year-old car, especially a Diesel. I wonder how difficult it would be to meet US specs with this, as CDN mods are not as strict.

The high bid on that egay ad was $4,200, and the BIN was $19,000...obviously, the owner sees the value much higher than the market does.

there are lots of these for sale in europe with less kms and for a lot less money,

it's not worth 20 grand, they are over 15 years of age and that makes importing them into Canada very simple.

US requirements are 25 model years or older to get past the EPA/DOT silliness. That wagon could not be legally imported into the US until 2019.

Importing a car into Canada that is over 15 years old is very simple, in this case being a european manufactured car you have to pay both duty and taxes based on the purchase price.( if it's a north american car there is no duty) then you have to get the vehicle to pass our local safety check, and in southern Ontario if the vehicle is 1988 or newer it also has to pass our emissions test, being deisel makes it easier to pass the e test.

Cars that are newer than 15 years old have to go through a lot more and in most cases need to be modified to meed our standard set to the year of manufacture

I can't remember the last time I saw a Citroen on the street/highway in Ontario, except for the Citroen 2CV which seems to be more of a curiosity piece/collector car than a DD. (Obviously, not a DD in the Canadian winter!)

You might see the occasional Peugeot and, less often, Renault.

I imagine parts/service could be a problem, not to mention expensive. :whew:

last summer at some of the shows I seen an SM, some 2CVs, and an older DS.

I've always had a soft spot for the SM's

Since Citroen left the North American market so long ago, and this model was never imported here at all, I can only imagine the fun of getting parts for it in a timely fashion. Neat car as a 2nd or 3rd in the fleet, but I wouldn't want it as my only.
