This is a REALLY rare car indeed. The Falcon was a very basic Fairlane. I forget just how many were made. "Collectable Automobile" did a quick article about these cars a couple of years ago, and included the production numbers. I know that this generation of Falcon was very rare in all body styles, and the wagons were the least common. Seems to me that the total production was about 1,000. Finding a wagon in good solid shape, even if a mild custom, is not going to be easy.
It's not quite as rare as I thought - 10,539, about the same as any other trim level of 1970 Fairlane/Torino wagon. Still an oddity that you almost never see today.
Still od to see one, considering only 74 more bace Torino wagons were built. Of subject, I'm believing the number in your link.... I never heard of a Torino N/W before to I searched it... just as your link says, 395 made.... http://www.10-e.net/torino/ Of the 395 Type N/W only 5 were 429’s and of that only 1 is a 429CJ. This vehicle was purchased at the dealership I have worked at for 28 years. The photo with the two older gentlemen in front of the Ford store is the now 86 year old salesman that sold the car new to now 79 year old original purchaser at the dealership where it was sold new.
