    Hey,
    Is this a " real " production car from Ford. I mean on the tailgate there is
    no trim on either side. And they incorporated the Fiberglass moldings with
    aluminum. Just asking...... It looks neat tho.

    It looked a bit funny to me, too.
    Yes. This is a real production wagon. Top of the line for the mid-sized Mercury for '69.
    Couldn't find another pic of a tailgate area, so don't know the answer there,
    The lower woodgrain trim on the sides appears to be a fiberglas/plastic piece, with a chrome trim inserted. The one catalog pic I saw shows this trim in the color of the woodgrain, so I think on this wagon it must have lightened up over time.

    "Sold" for $5600. That's a good price for a fine example of a rare car.

    Now that does seem like a steal compared to what others want for there wagons.

    It's a beauty. Best looking Montego wagon I've seen. The new owner should be very happy.
