Hi all, this doesn't pertain to my wagon but to my 66 Satellite. I need to remove the a/c unit (compressor and hoses) and was wondering if there was anything special I need to do. I don't think the unit is charged. If it is, it would be with the old stuff (freon). Now I'm pretty sure that stuff is poisonous so I'm a little leary of disconnecting anything. Anyone have any insight on how to proceed?

Drive it to the nearest A/C shop and have them evacuate the system. Who knows, for R12 they might even pay you ah few bucks. Short of that you might think of holding your breath for ah bit when you crack the line:evilsmile: That's what most of us do:tiphat:

Well since it's not mobile, I guess I'll have to hold my breath.

Okay, the unit had three valves and none of them hissed or had anything come out when depressed. So I think it's safe to say that it is no longer charged at all.
