Hello to all! As a part of a few other forums, I know how important it is to introduce ones self... so here I am! As of today, I am now the proud owner of a 72 New Yorker Town and Country 9 Passenger Wagon. Its going to be my next project and a secondary car for me to drive during the restoration. I've been wanting a classic wagon for a LONG time, and I finally have one now... woo-hoo! I've done plenty of amatuer restorations, but really dont know a lot about these cars. I have a solid car to start with... and a 440 that purrs like a kitten. I look forward to using some of the knowledge base here and hopefully make a few friends in the process while I slowly bring this awesome car back to life as a reliable daily driver.
They don't make garages big enough for those anymore. You'll need a barn. That car is in desparate need of white wall tires! You could give her a polish and add some woodgrain....restoration complete. It's in fine condition.
As an update: I drove her back from Tucson this morning... and as expected.. no issues; although I packed a tool kit to be sure. Cruised up to Phoenix at 75mph all the way... in 100 Degree temps. She ran a cool 195 most of the way. Steering was kind of scary, but the ride was smooth once you figure out how to use the rudder a little to steer! LOL Watch out for wind gusts! Thanks for all the welcomes... let the WORK begin!
Yeah, the sails on a Land Yacht work a little different, don't they? Good for you that she's so solid.
Aha! The Birthday Boy!!!! Some things you just wanna forget, but we can't let you! If it wasn't for your gift of the pics to the Arizona junkyards, we'd never know there were any prime project cars. So thanks for being here, and have a great birthday.:biggringift:
