I went fishing one morning but after a short time I ran out of worms.

Then I saw a Cottonmouth Snake with a Frog in his mouth.

    Frogs are good Bass bait.

Knowing the Snake couldn't bite me with the Frog in his mouth I grabbed him right behind the head, took the Frog, and put it in my bait bucket.

Now the dilemma was how to release the Snake without getting bit.

So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little Whiskey in its mouth.

His eyes rolled back, he went limp.

I released him into the lake without incident and carried on fishing using the Frog.

A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot.

It was that Snake, with two more frogs.

    :D

Haha! Good one! Cotton mouths, AKA water moccassins, are poisonous. We have them here in GA. I think they're akin somewhat to copperheads?

They're all the same snake - just different names.
Hard to pull a frog out, as they have 2 - 2" fangs, aimed to the rear, and frog is usually dead from the venom. It can kill a human!
There's also a water snake that looks like one - no fangs.
    Not poisonous.

    Garter, or ribbon snake.
As a kid we had them here, in a 'mating ball' - thousands just squirming in about a foot of water!
Brother and I each grabbed 2 handfulls, and took them home~fun for a while!

Hate to burst your bubble, but we do have isolated pockets of rattlesnakes, which are also venomous.

ahh see thats you! where fannie lives, its too cold for snakes!

Pa has 3 venomous snakes. the copper head (i was told by a ranger that they are poisonous, but will only make you sick not kill you. unless you are a child or elderly) 2. the timber rattler (very poisonous) 3. the eastern massasauga (endangered, tiny, deadly).

i love Australia and want to visit there someday. but, they have like 70% of the worlds venomous animals! I'm surprised they don't have poisonous rabbits!

We have 4 poisonous snake varieties here in Ga. Cotton Mouth, copperhead, rattlesnakes(timber, pygmy, eastern diamondbacks) and the Coral Snake, a very deadly snake especially considering its smaller size compared to most of the others. Its only found in south GA. That's true about the copperhead I believe, a good friend of mine was bitten by one when he was a child, he has a slight deformity of one of his hands as a result.
