    :wave:Hi all:D

I see that Deb told you all what was going on:90:......

    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19966

Yeah, so I had mentioned my heath ishues a bit and was off work because of. Puttering around the house, playng with the kids (2 and 4 leged), keeping Dad busy, cleared the driveway for drop off bin Friday and I was whipped. Friday nite all I was able to eat was salid. By 8pm I really started to burn in my chest, I kinda knew what it was but have experienced the same several times since my origonal pancreatitis attack that did almost kill me a few years ago. How ever the next day I have allways been fine...untill this time. Had a hell of nite and Saturday I woke burning, but no fever etc so I caried on, but as the day grew I became more ill, so I waited for Deb to come home....... Yeah, yeah, I know, I got ear fulls from hospital staff also:naughty:

So I spent 26 hours in Emergancy in a bed rite infront of the main desk so all staff could see me at all times, hooked up to everthing. I was aloud to have water in small doses but after 12 hours my gut got so big from stomac gasses I was banned from water and had a tube shuved up my nose to my gut to get the gases out (not fun) The next 24+ hours I did not have a sip of water but only aloud to wipe my mouth out with medical ''sponge on a stick things" and IV was the only thing keeping me hydrated. I had allwready gone through several blood tests and the ER doctor said that blood tests don't allways show a previously damaged pancreas, but the CT scan did ( I was to go for a CT scan in a month due to the wait list....but in emergancy, you get one ASAP...go figure)

I was finnaly aloud to have Jello for dinner Monday......can't believe how good it was:dance:, and had broth and Jello for dinner :yahoo:...... Tuesday I had chichen mush soup for dinner:banana:....... last nite for dinner I had bland rice with shredded carrots, and a few small beef strips[IMG]Oh, thats the stuff.........:rofl2: But the beef was a bit to much and this AM told the doctor and the Doc was ticked, because I was not to have meat perioud.

They sure drill ya on her questions..... what do you eat, drink, etc, etc. I'm glad Deb was there for all that. Wierd, although we honestly do eat good 90+% of the time my diet has to change again. No more week end beer, and no meat perioud for at least 2 weeks, I also HAVE to stop smoking. No salt, butter, etc, etc. Atleast 1 Boost a day if not more, veggies, low salt broth diluted with water. I can have low fat milk but just one small glass a day. Lots of water.....they were real heavy on the water as I am very vulnerable to dehydration rite now.

Monday nite, they unhooked my from the IV for 1/2 hour. They let me go outside....Deb brout Rascal and Griffin to hospital, they went nuts:), Tuesday I got 1 hour of the IV and we all went for a walk....I was done after that;). Yesterday I was off the IV all together, did'nt see the boys but went for a walk with my nephews to say goodbye as they left this AM. Walked them behind the hospital to the loading bays etc (after hours so no traffic), they really enjoyed seeing all the trucks and stuff. Few of the bay doors were open including the lower drive in bacement doors so they got to see the guts of the hospital, they really enjoyed that. And to Deb's suprise, no body told us "your not suposed to be here, get out"(All signs say no admitance, employes only).....Deb, such a worry wuss:rofl2:...I mean, what are they gona do??? There is me, 3 IV's sticking out of my arm, wearing hospital shirt, walking to little kids with popcycles..... I'm just showing them around!:party5:

Was dam good to get home today, I snuck under the rear patio and Deb let the boys out. They ran rite down the stairs into the back and then I yelled.... They went freeken nuts and I have 2 shadows today that I can't shake:)

Another nice suprise was.... Last Sunday I was gona heve a crew over to tear off my garage roof, but that got cancelled. Tuesday some friends took the day off from work, came over and tore my roof off, vapour barriered it, and cleaned the yard of debris as if nothing had happened.
I owe some guys big time:drink::drink::drink:.....for them, not me;)

In ER my blood preasure peaked at 182 over 116, I came home today at 139 over 85. Still a bit high but......

Glad to be back here, home, and on this side of the grass:p I tire very fast so I'm just gona watch the grass grow for a few days.

Thanks for all the well wishes in the other thread all:wave:

....Now I have alot of catchung up to do.

Fat Tedy I love to read your stories. Even this one had some funny parts. But there was also a scare that should warn all those older members to take things a little slower and watch what they eat and drink. Glad you are back home and well.
With your great family, friends, and personal attitude you will be on the mend and ready for your next adventure. We truly thank your partner Deb for the updates. No need to chew you out. You suffered way more than we could every do in words.

    Tedy, Tedy, Tedy...

We're not kids anymore; can't treat these old bodies like garbage disposals without payback.

But looks who's talking...I played hockey today for the first time in about 3 years. I love that game...but I think I'm gonna be hurting tomorrow!

Hope you're recovery is swift and easy.
And "no meat" isn't very difficult; Julie and I got serious about our diets about a year ago. We eat a lot of fruit, veggies, fish, seafood and poultry. Hardly ever see beef in our menus any more...we both feel better and we've lost about 40 pounds (almost 18 Kg for all you metric types).

Hey Tedy, good thing you are back, we were getting real worried for you. You were missed and we are so thankful that Deb kept us posted.

I'm sure she is going to do every thing she can to get you better. If this were me, that is what my wife would do, but just so's I'd properly feel the pain she'd inflict for my actions:whew:.

Take what ever time you feel you really need to get over this, don't rush things. You are going to have to do what the doctors say, end to end, if you are intending to be around till those nephews are old enough to wash and wax your wagons for you.

Take care buddy, you guys are in our prayers.

Oh yeah, and expect a major domo blast from Fannie when she gets back from holidays:rofl2:

    im with jmt,

i started eating lots of fresh veggies. read up on line...there are lots of things you can make that are a new adventure in flavor. try grilled radiccio. once you can have salt and olive oil. luckily i love all seafood... so fish for me is a no brainer. as is sushi. tedy you outta try sushi...i think you may just like it. it is not greasy slimy raw fish, in fact a lot of it is cooked.

try walking after work. i find it relives stress and gets you in shape.
I lost 12lbs this month doing this. i meant to pm you with that.

I think his avatar is going to need to be changed to Formerly Fat Tedy.

A1 is right Tedy. You will notice a difference almost immediately. And if Fox has to come and straighten you out we are ALL in trouble. Sort of like when my Dad used to say "if I have to come up there", only he didn't also have a "Deb" to help him out with what ever it is he will do when he gets there......

    Thanks all:tiphat:

Wierd thing is.... Beef has been almost 99% off my diet since my first battle with this. And in all honesty, we did eat good and healthy, chichen and fish, veggies and mainly from diabtis and heart smart cooking found online....go figure..?!?. But I guess those once in blue moon "lets cheat eat" meals are what are going to be a thing of the past now. Week end beer.... I am glad Deb was there for the 200 questions, because they sure had a hard time beliving I only drank beer on weekends, but don't get fall down drunk. Stress and the extra smoking is believed to be a magor factor. Smoking is almost more harmfull than booze for this they tell me, so the patch it is.

although tired I did go shoping with Deb this afternoon for my new diet...

I had the cream of wheat this AM with some Jam, Mom used to make it when I was a kid like that...it aint that bad, really
    [IMG] [IMG],

Who would have thought, I would get adicted to jello:rofl2:

    [IMG] and[IMG]

And then, some stuff that I have always snacked on since....
    [IMG] and [IMG][IMG]

    10 out of 10 babies can't be wrong!:rofl2:

Odly enouph, what we shoped for has not really changed other than "no Meat", still buying rice cakes, alot of the chinese food snaks and stuff are fat and salt free, cottage cheese, fruits and veggies. Only real difference is paying the extra $ for organic soups that have in the area 10% salt compared to Cambells as a example,,, there low sodium soups are all over 20%.

.....I just reved the engine a bit to high for too long.....just like watching the temp gage rise yet you don't back off to let it cool.....and....I blew a gasket
