Been obsessed with getting a wagon for a while- I'm 47 and single so I don't know why, but I love the 70's wagons- nostalgia, I'm sure. Anyway.... have my eye on a newer roadmaster wagon; Not quite the nostalgia but obviously a newer, less needy vehicle. That LT1 will make up for any lost nostalgia. I'm in New England, too, and 70's wagons that aren't a pile of rust are pretty rare. Had some roadmaster (last gen) questions and didn't really see any brand specific forums- are there any or is that not really needed here? Glad to be here and thanks.
urnuts . First of all you're not nutz for loving station wagons. Secondly you were supposed to introduce your self first. I guess you sorta did that. Thirdly, there probably are separate threads to ask specific brand questions. But we are mostly pretty general and used to just spreading our questions, answers, and facts wherever we happpen to start. Not that I do it, but we even get off topic from thread to thread on these forum posts. All I want to do is welcome you. Hopefully others can steer you straight.
Welcome to the forum, urnuts! A nice '95/'96 B-body is what you need to cure your mid-life crisis! The wagon doctor will fix you up. Also maybe a decent single axle car trailer to load up that Miata to take is down to the track and do some auto crossing, or maybe some SCCA racing. Put the tailgate down and slide out your wrenches..... Marshall
One of my questions was actually about towing- I'm a dirtbiker and have a 5x10 enclosed trailer (pretty light as it has an aluminum frame) but once it's loaded with a bike, fuel, tools, etc..... I can't imagine that will even me noticed by that Buick. The one I'm looking at has no hitch, so I'll have to deal with that. Either way, I appreciate the welcome and don't want to jam this thread up with questions, so I'll post that question- with some others- in the appropriate place. Seems like the '96-ish Roadmasters (in really nice shape) do NOT come cheap. The trailer: http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/cmeal/bikes/?action=view¤t=IMG_2939.jpg Oh... yes, getting back into racing dirtbikes after 25 years not riding, that was mid-life crisis stage 1!
Roadmaster should be able to handle that trailer no problem, but if you're towing regularly, you probably want to find one with the tow package option. You know, if you are looking exclusively at GM B-bodies, you might want to get connected with a guy named Fred. He runs a business on the side locating and selling '91-'96 B-body wagons, and he knows everything about them. Very honest, too. Go to the GM Longroof forum and PM 'Rhuphrax' (I think that's how it's spelled) that's his screen name there. Anybody else have an easier way to get into contact with Fred?
If its a tech question, post it in the tech forum. If its a general section, post it in the general section.
Welcome urnuts. They have more than a few members here with RM wagons that should be able to answer your questions.
u r nuts... Milford, NH. I'm going to be there next Friday if my plans go right. Hubby and I are heading to Loudon for the Nascar race next Sunday. My sister is into minature houses so I'm picking up a few things for her at Earth and Tree. Good Luck with your wagon search.
Lol-- Pass that place about 5 times/day. If you ever need me to get something for you, let me know. Enjoy the trip and the race. I'll be racing my dirtbike down in RI that day.
RI= Rhode Island? If you see an couple of confused Canadian in a tiny, red, Chevy Sonic, tying up traffic gives a honk and a wave with all your fingers. Have fun with the dirt bike, play safe.
URNUTSYou'll like it here. We're all ah little off plumbWord of wisdom on the crotch rockets tho'. As the yearz advance it takes longer for the "HOLDON CRAMPS" to go away every spring An ole' Penton rider told you that Jer
Welcome to the forums! I am right down the road from you in Manchester, have family and friends in Milford and Amherst. If you see a yellow gold 80's Caprice wagon, with and without wood, that's me.
