We just bought another wagon, The 63 Galaxie wagon was sold last December and I have wanted to find a nice wagon that isn't a project, well I think we've found it. It is a 1962 Mercury Monterey Commuter station wagon, it was sold new at McKnight Motors in Cle-Elum,WA and the car was owned by the same family until a few months ago, It had sat in their garage on their farm since the mid 1970's. It only has 27,500 original miles and has a 352-2V V8 with a 3spd manual with Overdrive! A friend showed up with this car to the Vintage Trailer Campout in Roslyn, WA. He got it running and driving after the original family contacted him to take care of the car. This car is lots of fun to drive, I might take it to the Station Wagon Show at the XXX Rootbeer Drive-in in Issaquah, WA next weekend (July 1st). See you there! Thanks, Bill

Ok, first of all, looks like a beautiful car. Get it if you can! The only thing I'd add is a nice set of white wall tires.
Second of all, how'd I miss out on this deal in Roslyn!? I was just there last weekend!
I've always wanted to be at the XXX drive in when they have a show, but as of yet haven't timed it right. I'll be going right by there on the third.

We went up to Roslyn last Friday to visit since we could stay for the weekend and our Friends Lou and Kathi had the car out in the corner of the field to sell stuff at the swap meet, they also have a nice red 1956 Ford wagon that was probably there on Saturday. I brought this car home on Friday, I think it needs some whitewalls also, It has 15" Mopar police car wheels right now, but I also have the original 14" wheels with dog dish hubcaps but the tires are shot. Here is a picture of it before we bought it at the Roslyn trailer show, he kept the vintage aftermarket roof rack.

I suggest some new tires right away. Then when you get some money, add disc brakes in the front. And finally, if it is a consideration, think about adding AC.

Great find. Great wagon. Have fun and good luck!
