hello to everyone, after reading several articles i felt the need to participate in full scale on your forum. i´m from germany and heavily into (old) american cars and british bikes. my history of owned cars is relatively long. currently i own a '66 mustang fastback, '46 buick sedanette and the reason for being here a '71 ford country squire. the country squire is originally from california and i imported it 5 years ago. it´s been under restoration while keeping the patina. worst job was unpeeling the broken, sundried woodgrain vinyl (2 layers). i assume it took me more than 80-100 hours including the mouldings. anyway i´m here and happy to share any information end experience i have gathered on this and other projects. all the best reverend-heat
to the forum. Most of us pretty much love everything with tires so you will fit right in. Adding information and pictures is a good way to make us happy. And a few of us get ugly when we're not happy!
thanks for the warm welcome, guys @therev yes, reverend horton heat is someone i appreciate and i find his name way cool. seems i´m not the only one :evils mile: as this is my nickname in motor forums for the past ten years i must admit i haven't checked for similar names in swf before i registered, hope nobody gets offended or is irritated by similarities.
We can never have too many "men of the cloth" in my opinion. Especially someone from Germany who writes better than me. You raised in the U.K.?
to the wagon train, revheat. Very interesting history of cars and a good intro. Show us some pix of your wagon when you can How To: Post Pictures in a Thread we love pix. I would love to see that Buick, too!
Welcome! I would enjoy hearing about how you restored your woodgrain and moldings. You could create a post in the section on woodgrain, should that idea appeal to you. I need to improve the appearance of my fiberglass raised trim, so I'm sure I will learn something from your experiences.
