We went to see one of out Local Tracks "night of destruction" at Toledo Speedway in Ohio. Well we loaded up the wagon with 6 adults & 2 boys, and all the required stuff. The Boys really were looking forward to the Figure 8 racing, roll over contest, ect... And my wife really wanted to see the Figure 8 School bus racing. But she wasn't expecting this good of view of the action. Let me 1st say no one was injured (thank God!!!) And apologize for the poor quality of some of the pic's, but the 1st pic shows the hit at the center of the track that started this, the bus with the flashing lights gets turned, and the throttle sticks, and he has no brakes. Pic 2 shows the Flagman (in yellow doing his Sir Robbin Imitation, and Smartly RUNNING AWAY!!!!) And the last 3 show the results, luckily the safty cables held more then they were ever designed to stop!!!! But now the track has to Hustle to repair the wall before we can run our 24 Hous of Lemons race this Saterday.
Ive been to a few derbies, but have never seen a live figure 8 race. A lemons is something id like to do as well.
Actualy I am not going to be in the Lemons race, I will be a tech inspector, and a corner/pits worker for 2 shifts. I did the same duty last year when the Lemons ran at Flat Rock Speedway, and it was alot of fun!!!!
For anyone that is not familiar with the 24 hours of LeMons races, It is a endurance race for $500.00 cars. Here is a link to there web site. http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/contact/ The Toledo race is actually the only one that will run 24 hours straight, as the other tracks have noise restrictions.
