Found this interesting 72 Lemans Wagon with the Factory Endura Nose option that makes it look like a GTO wagon. The asking price seems reasonable for the car. Here is a link to the ad on a Pontiac forum that I frequent.

    http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/showthread.php?t=682191

Ad says it was a 350 powered car originally, but now has a running 455 Pontiac in it.

That could be a nice car, but I would never pay $4200 for it with all its issues, I would care less if its 1 of 2 in existance, its not worth $4200 to me, at most $2k as it sits. Rather it had the original 350 in it also, they were big enough pigs on gas, hate to feed gas to a 455 in a daily driver, need a fuel tanker as a tow behind trailer for that hog motor.

I know the car is rather rough, but the 455 is worht at least $1000.00 in running condition.

my 71 Lemans wagon with a mild 455, 200R4 overdrive, and 3.55 gears gets 21 MPG on the highway, only about 12 to 15 in city driving depending on how hard I drive it.

Finding a complete 72 endura nose is difficult, may 1 year only parts like the grills and front fenders, the hood and bumper parts are the same as 71's

Thats just it, with a 455 under the hood, I would never be able to control how heavy my right foot is. I would be going to the tire shop after every 2nd tank of gas. Imagine the bills I would rack up, 20 tanks of gas and 10 sets of rear tires between oil changes.

If this was just a 'regular' '72 Le Mans wagon, $2k (or under) would be about right. That original endura nose (in pretty good shape, I might add..) and the 455 are why you'll be paying $4,200.... Seller will get his price.

cars been for sale for a while. Seller is a member of POCI. Ive seen it there. I was really breathing heavily over it, but I wont part with 4200 for it either. I have several 455's, 428, 400 etc., Id pull that thing out in a second too. I dont want to feed one either.

I drove a '77 Grand Prix with a mildly rebuilt '76 455 in it for a number of years. I even commuted from grad school in Providence to girlfriend in western Mass. for a year, several times per week. Gas was much cheaper then, but with the Edelbrock carb I reckon I saw 15+ MPG. Some trucks today can't do much better.

This one was in storage for over 10 years. This was the first day (back in July last year) it was driven.

Just took a look at all the pics.
Body is mostly solid. Floor pans look pretty good. Rust-through in the RT quarter and at bottom of the tailgate. Minor rust issues in some other areas. Drivetrain looks like it needs $$ somewhere, if not everywhere. Interior pretty beat-up, except for trim panels.

Wagon doesn't show up on E-bay. Wonder what kind of action the seller would get if he did?

    FWIW, this is my car.

The car does have some rust in the quarters and tail gate but beyond that, it's about as clean as they come for an unrestored wagon. The floors are near perfect as is the front clip.

Yep, the engine alone is worth $1000 and the front clip maybe $1500-2000. Even the wheels are worth $300-400.

I'd never want to see the car parted out, but just a few parts off the car are worth close to what I want out of it.

I don't need to sell the car and if it doesn't sell this time, I'm just going to license and drive it. I just have way too many projects and would like to see it go to a good home.

If I was wagon shopping, Kenny, I'd certainly talk some business with 'ya. I tried to buy one of these in Orange County, CA back around 1986, but the owner wasn't selling (just saw it parked in a driveway...)

    Good luck with the sale.....

Thanks! I am sure at some point I'll find the right person who is looking for just this car. I'm almost hoping I get to license it and drive it. I used to have a '69 Catalina wagon and loved driving that car (my wife hated it though).

The car sold last night. If all goes well with the payment, it will be going to Australia.
